The theory about the nature of mental states stipulates the doings of the mental state but rather not what makes up the mental state. The sociologist theory clarifies the conflict in the society arising due to difference in people’s mental states.
Conflict
Social conflict theory states that, in capitalism, there is a destructive interaction that results to no mutual benefit between two parties. The theory argues that in some circumstances where any individual is in somebody's debt that ought to be paid occasionally, there inequality and favors and hence resulting to conflict.
Symbolic Interactions
Social conflict among the members of the society will have negative effect when the society joins to achieve common goals derived from social interactions.

In America, racial inequality has been manifested in different ways. There is a huge gap in terms of investments between the Native Americans and the minority African American. The unemployment rates between the native and the minorities is very huge with the latter having an alarming percentage of unemployment rate and lastly the racial segregation experienced in America has resulted to inequality in health, education and decreased opportunities (Painter & Qian, 2015).

In politics, the elective positions held by women are lower than those of men. Ideally, their lack of participation to demographics has contributed to this inequality. Compared to their male counterparts, women also earn less. This wage inequality has been on the rise resulting to an extremely polarized environment. Health and gender violence to women has taken roots in America as a result of lacking proper laws for their protection.

There is a difference in terms of income between the LGBT persons and heterosexuals as they earn significantly low. The LGBT persons have experienced discrimination in their work places due to their sexual orientation and gender identification. The continued marginalization of the LGBT has led to negative implications in their social and economic status.

Low social and economic dwellers have met inequalities in terms of discrimination in the connection to economic and upward mobility opportunities (Dacosta, 2010). Low life is characterized by racism and negative public attitudes. There are social background differences in terms of health and education.
