Racial violence was a common problem in Texas. The scenario started to keep changing after the civil war. There had many changes on the way people treat each other and the techniques used to rule Texas. The racial harmony and cooperation was established. Following are the three example of racial harmony and cooperation in the Texas from three different time period.
The Spanish Texas was one of the remarkable time in the history of Texas in terms of racial harmony. The slavery and the conflicts with Indians were minimized at this time. Indians were brought under tax paying citizens on the period of Spanish Texas. This time period can be considered as the period that constructed the modern Texas. Peoples of different races were cooperative in the event of different crisis in this time period and they achieved successful outcome (Tshaonline).
The independence movement can be considered as the best example of racial harmony on the Mexican Owned Texas. The people from different races were mixed together and formed a unified group at this time that had contribute on many important events in the Mexican Owned Texas. They are being successful to gather people from different races together. The unified mixing of people from all races were quiet unusual for new arrived Americans specially the people who came from the Deep South at this time (Tucker 13).
The Anglo owned Texas basically promoted the racial harmony with more priority. They have promoted the concept of “Americanization” on that time. They also tried to encourage people by referring to the golden history of racial harmony and cooperation in Texas. They have contributed on the process of Americanization regardless of racial differences on this time. They also promoted the racial harmony between Mexican and Anglos by referring to some of the old events and benefits of future events (Young 133).
