The Haredim:
Haredim refers to the group of orthodox Jews that are politically, socially and theologically conservative. The Haredi men often put on black suits while the women are long dark dresses and thick stockings. The followers of this religion are easy to identify, but very difficult to understand them. The observance of both written and the oral Torah keeps the Haredim people together. The religious group in Jerusalem aimed at preventing any influence from outside and also avoiding contamination of their practices and values. This religious group as aimed at achieving strict observance of the Jewish faith in Jerusalem by avoiding the aspects of the modern society. It also involves aspects of gender separation making interaction with other members of the society very difficult. This religious group complicated the situation in Jerusalem because it encouraged its followers to remain separate and distant from other members of the society of Jerusalem leading to social and political conflicts among the people.
The mainline Zionists:
The mainland Zionists are concerned with the return of the Jews to a holy land. This group believed in the coming of Jesus for the second time. This involved the encouragement of Jews in becoming Christians. This group, therefore, allowed some space for interaction because the religious aspects were not very strict as opposed to the Haredim. The mainland Zionists also believed that the Israelites are the chosen people of the Lord .This group made it easy for both political and religious interactions in Jerusalem since the people were free to mingle with others. This also entailed the aspects of secular motivation in relation to economic and political realities in the Ottoman Empire. This also made Jerusalem accept the issues relating to religious tolerance enabling people to interact freely irrespective of their religious views or political differences. The mainland Zionists made it easy to solve the challenges in Jerusalem pertaining to the religious and political conflicts.
The Palestinian Islamists:
The Palestinian Islamists in Israel led to a lot of issues in Israel. This group of people in Israel were involved in the aspects of Islam and little interaction with other people in Jerusalem due to religious bias and strictness. This led to religious conflicts making it difficult for the people in Jerusalem to interact both on economic and political grounds. The Palestinian Islamists caused a lot of rivalries with the people living in Jerusalem. This complicated the whole life of the people living in Jerusalem in relation to both religion and political tolerance among the people. This group was also associated with aspects of terror campaigns leading to political unrest. The interaction among the Palestinian Islamists was also restricted making it a challenge to the life in the city of Jerusalem. The presence of Palestinian Islamists in Jerusalem, therefore, made the situation difficult to solve due to both the religious and political conflicts among the people living in the city of Jerusalem.
The Christians:
The Christians in Jerusalem felt oppressed by the Jews in relation to their religious practices and superiority. This led to many conflicts between the Christians and the Jews religions like Judaism. The diversity of religious views in Jerusalem led to many challenges in relation to the coexistence of the people in Jerusalem. The religious conflicts between the Christians and Jews led to many complications to the situation in Jerusalem city. Christianity to some extent contributed to the cultural and political conflicts in Jerusalem due to the differences among the people.
