Boosting employee motivation: Lessons from Steve Jobs
SUMMERY OF ARTICLE:
Employees are an essential asset for every organization. It is important that every organization should focus on employee motivation. According to Steve Jobs it is significant that the head of the company should be involved in micromanaging and employees should be a part of decision-making in order to make them feel they are integral for the company. Training should be given to employees because it makes them understand that the company is involved in their career growth and development and boosts the morale of workforce (Michelle, p.2). Training encourages learning, attitude, and knowledge and enhances employee skills in the company in order to improve their current job performance and contribute to overall productivity within organization. It is critical that no matter what organizational structure is followed, a professional attitude among employees should be encouraged to maintain the quality of work and overall ethics and standards of the company (Michelle, p.2).
STATEMENT OF HOW THE ARTICLE RELATES TO THIS CLASS:
This article is related to this class because employee motivation is the most important topic and has been discussed in unit 5. Motivation is a stimulus that causes people to act and perform. This stimulus may be a requirement to energize inner self or can be a response to earn money. It is important that an organization is able to identify how employees are motivated in order to improve team performance, increase productivity and achieve overall organizational goals (Steve, p.1). According to Steve Jobs it is significant that the head of the company should be involved in micromanaging and employees should be a part of decision-making in order to make them feel they are integral for the company. Training should be given to employees because it makes them understand that the company is involved in their career growth and development and boosts the morale of workforce (Michelle, p.2).
