There is nothing as good as storing data and records in the right manner. This not only makes it easy to extract the data, but also makes the working area more organized. Evolution in technology has led to the online storage facilities, with companies such as Cloud taking advantage of this (PCWorld, 1). Top Ten Reviews (1) reveals that online storage is popular because it helps in keeping the data in a safe manner free from any form of threat or damage.
Some advantages associated with online storage are that it is convenient and efficient. Furthermore, it is easy to access the data stored in such a manner. The data is free from accidental deletion. There is use of operability in that the data files can be easily shared with other people. In case of a loss, it can always be easily restored (Top Ten Reviews, 1).
There are some drawbacks associated with this technology though. In terms of security, hacking can see to it that an unintended individual accesses the data. Security is therefore an issue. Secondly, the data is only accessible where there is internet connectivity. Therefore, if there is no connectivity, then there is no data. Lastly, there is a possibility of an online meltdown. This means that the data can be there at one moment, then gone in the next (PCWorld, 2).
