Psychometric testing in perspective
Psychometric testing in the context of work environment is concerned with the measure of psychological aspects of employees. This involves aspects such as personality, abilities, skills, and knowledge. Common instruments that are currently used for the psychometric analysis include ability test, personality questionnaire, and assessment center. Each of these tools is used for a specific function. They measure particular psychological aspects on the individual. Ability testing is concerned with the measure of the employee’s ability to deliver on the project; Personality testing seeks to provide an indication of the behavior style of each employee at while at work. The information is important for establishing whether the individual employee is likely to fit in the new project and work with the other in unison. The assessment test is a multiple evaluation test that provides a broad range of information about an employee’s ability. It involves conducting simulation while evaluating various aspects about an individual.
Interaction styles indicator is however the main focus of this report. It seeks to establish how Anderson and Beatrice will cope with each other as they work together on this project. The two individuals have different interaction styles that can either hinder or boost their partnership. Since they have never worked together in a similar project before, it is important to understand their interaction style and enhance their relationship in order to optimize the outcome of the project.
Therefore, both Beatrice and Anderson were subjected to interaction style testing to establish how best they can be able to work together in this project. The result of the test is provided in the result section of this report.
Literature review on employee Interaction styles
In the work place, there are many performance problems and issues that arise as a result of individual differences and personalities. The indicator is important to allow employees to respect and manage the differences amongst them. For every employee, the bottom line is to have mature interactions and control themselves so as to achieve positive outcomes in line with an organization’s goals. The interaction style model helps to achieve a number of functions regarding the interaction of employees during work.
Firstly, it will help the two employees understand themselves and how their different interaction styles differ from each other. This information is important for both Anderson and Beatrice to know before they begin working together. They need to know their own interaction styles and how it best matches with that of the other person.
Secondly, the model will help to improve communication between the two employees. Communication is an important aspect of any project. It is one of the indicators that determines the success or failure of a project. The two employees will be expected to be engaging each other in conversations relating to the project. If they do not understand how to cope with the other, the project may as well be bound to fail.
Thirdly, the model will help the two employees to be sensitive to any interaction they have beyond just the two of them. Throughout the project, both employees may engage in interaction with other employees within the company and people from outside the company. In the process, their interaction styles will come handy in such instances.
Finally, the model will help the two employees manage how they relate with one another. It is important that their relationships be more skillful and aimed at achieving success of the project. At the same time, their relationship is expected to influence impact others in addition to demonstrating a greater sense of adaptability and versatility.
In order to achieve greater success, it is important to combine employees with specific types of interaction styles. Basically, the interaction style model assumes a two dimension behavior approach. The two main behaviors used in the model are assertiveness and responsiveness. The approach appears to have a huge impact towards interpersonal relationships.
Using the interaction style model
Combining low responsiveness and high assertiveness creates an employee who is result oriented. Such an individual focuses on result and will push on until the intended outcome is achieved. Combining a low responsive behavior with a less assertive one creates an interaction style that is analytical in nature. Combining high responsiveness and assertiveness creates an interaction style that is based on expressiveness. Such an interaction style is people centered because the individual outwardly expresses themselves. Lastly, combining a behavior of high responsiveness and low assertiveness creates an interaction style based on supporting and helping people.
Results of the psychometric analysis
The result of analysis based on the interaction style indicator reveal that the two employees Anderson and Beatrice can work together to achieve the intended outcome of the project. The interaction style of Anderson is based on results. He is a driver and likes to get things done. He is a very competitive employee who is focused on meeting his goals and objective. Once he gets his mind on something, he never stops until he completes it. He comes into this project with his independent and high thinking ability however is expected to work as a team with Beatrice in order to achieve the objective of the project. He is not expected to lead Beatrice but work together as partners. This is the main challenge that he might have in working towards the project. He holds a strong personal opinion which might be a huge hindrance towards partnering with Beatrice. However, the benefit of his input into the project will be realized because he is not afraid of taking risks.
One the side, the interaction style of Beatrice is analytical. Being the branch manager she is, she is very thorough and careful in the way things are done. This approach into situations and tasks before her is an asset to the project. Another big asset that Beatrice brings to the project is the fact that she enjoys tasks that require her to utilize her skills and abilities to the optimum. She enjoys tasks that make her to be very analytical and come up with solutions and recommendation that consider all the possible options. Beatrice interaction style may also pose a challenge for the project partnership. Her nature to be analytical may make her to very skeptical and less convinced about opinions and views she does not identify with. Her skeptical nature might lead to conflicts especially when the two are communicating with one another in relation to the project. She might decide to lean more towards her views and opinions with little regard for the opinion of her partner. She has some experience in management, being the branch manager for the company’s central London branch for almost a year now. The benefit of her input in the project will be realized because her work is mainly structured on hard data and facts.
Conclusion and recommendation
Recommendation
In order for the two employees to work together, they have to overcome communication barriers between them. Their diverse nature, individual perception, and interaction styles is likely to pose a challenge in how they communicate. They might seem to be the perfect combination given their positions at the company and their experience in their various areas of expertise however communication can still become difficult for both of them. The manner in which the two would comfortably communicate with each other can cause them emotional stress which will affect the other person. It is important that they understand how to cope with different situation and interactions with other people.
It is common for people to develop comfort out of their own styles of interaction. As a result, this builds a barrier that prevents them from communicating effectively with other people. In other words, Beatrice feels comfortable with her style of interaction. The comfort maybe to the extent where she may unconsciously build a barrier that prevents Anderson from communicating with her or vice versa. Similarly, Anderson has this personality that is result oriented and focused on the intended outcome such that he may begin displaying impatience in the process of interacting with Beatrice. The impatience may lead him to put a lot of unnecessary pressure on Beatrice thereby creating conflict between them. In effect, this may affect their relationship and how they communicate with each other.
Therefore, the first thing that the two employees need to understand is their style of interaction. They need to know where they fall and how they fit in a partnership.

The internal inefficiency as well as the external environment creates a number of threats to the hospital. The hospital is at the brink of losing its reputation because of media reports about poor services. In addition, market demand for nurses requires a higher educational level most nurses in the hospital do not have.
Another approach that the company could have used is the product oriented approach where the company could have first created a product that is perceived to be good and introduce it to the market without first developing a need within the market. The main difference between the two approaches lies on market research. Product orientation uses innovation in the production of a good and service. It is efficient for industries that rely on high product features to satisfy consumer demand.
A market mix involves the four ‘Ps’: product, price, place, and promotion. With regards to product, the first step for an effective mix is to develop an understanding of the market. The company relies on information from comprehensive market research to develop a product that specifically targets a segment of the market. The information retrieved from the market research study is used to develop a product that suits the needs of consumers. The company conducts market research with direct involvement of consumers. For instance, it can use a focus group to engage with consumers, listen to them, gather data, and conduct testing for products before launching the products into the market.
