IT projects
In the contemporary society, technology and computerization appears to be taking charge of almost all sectors in the economy. Most of these advancements are visible in many sectors and they are calling for development of different computer software pieces. This has led to deployment of computers in almost all sectors.
One of the projects I would like to develop in information technology is facial recognition project. In this project, cameras would be used to scan faces of people passing within the area of surveillance. One of the cameras may be used to scan faces and the images obtained may be used for monitoring purposes within a company. This project may be very useful to companies with many employees since log in processes would become very simple. The project may be also used to monitor use of office equipment leading to decreased misuse of company resources.
Another project I would embark on is finger print registration and identification purposes. This project would call for use of a finger print sensor which would record the finger prints of people and a computer might be used to store the fingerprints alongside the facial image of the person. This project would work very efficiently with the facial recognition software in ensuring log in procedures are quick, accurate and effective. This would also mean increased security and monitored use of equipment.
The third project that interests me is teleconferencing. Though this is not a new concept, I would like to practically approach it from a learner’s perspective. The project would call for networking and a centralized communication control centre. Webcams may also be employed thus this project would mean a great deal of learning. From a commercial view, this project would be of utmost importance to companies with more than one point of operation. The project would enable holding of meeting without the heads of the branches necessarily having to travel to one place. Also, if this was to be used in a learning set up, it would ease learning processes.
The fourth project is voice messaging. In the current cell phone communication systems, voice messaging is still in its infancy. I would like to embark on a project that would convert words uttered through its microphone into typed words on the cell phone’s screen. This project would reduce the need for a cell phone user to know how to type the words he/she greatly reducing time wasted in typing the words manually.
Lastly, another project of interest is malware source detection. In the cyberspace today, security has become something like a dream. A lot of malwares and poking into one’s private documents and collections have cropped up. I would like to work on a project to identify the source of the malware or security threat for submission to the authorities. This project would help a lot in learning institutions and companies where malwares are directed so as to tamper with some information in the computer or servers.
