Training and development refers to a field that is concerned with activities of an organization aimed at enhancing the output of persons and groups in that same organization. It is also called human resource growth or learning and development. The country under study on training and development is Germany (Kozlowski and Salas, 2010).
In the late 1990’s learning and development was seen as an abusive activity in Germany as it was viewed as a leveling factor among employers and their workers. However, as time went on the Germany’s began to embrace the idea as it helped improve productivity in various fields (Sims, 1998).
It revolves around three issues or areas; education growth and training. Training is based on ones area of specialization or the work that one undertakes. In development, it focuses on ones role or rather role outline in an organization. Education or academia is based on the job one might get in future (Barrow, 2003).
For this kind of activity to take place, there has to be parties involved or stakeholders. These include sponsors, participants, providers, facilitators and clients. Training has helped the Germans in reinforcing the skills and knowledge learnt in the process. Training is an eye opener as it has helped in seeing options that can improve one’s output in an organization (Coetzee, 2007).
The impact of training should be felt in the long run and not in the short run as seen in some cases. As suggested by the definition, training may be in groups or individuals. This activity has helped individuals to grow in their careers and brought economic prosperity. In conclusion, many organizations in Germany are called upon to take initiatives of training their employees (Cartwright, 2003).
