Introduction
I choose a manufacturing company for this project. As part of the research team that examines work groups within my organization, I have to identify factors that will enhance or constrain group productivity in the organization. I would look at and evaluate essential issues so as to make sure unit cohesiveness and output. I watched firsthand how here in my present place of employment, a man was employed with completely no manufacturing experience and it certainly repressed the group.
Everyone will have certain basic skills related to the manufacturing company so as to work in this environment. Not understanding thing such as what is the “green stuff” on a map associates to trees and forest will of course bring a hindrance to the group’s capability to depend on a person. The objective of the manufacturing plant company is to expand the worth of their services by making sure that they bring down the cost. This has not been possible because of the many fights going on in the groups. Some of the issues that these groups in the manufacturing plant company face are role conflict among the group members, there are communication issues, there is extreme inter group conflict, and absence of cohesiveness in groups with the different members. The manufacturing plant company needs to adjust to the exercise of group work. This is for the reason that when staff works as one unit, it makes the job much more easy and competent and makes sure that the care of every patient is improved. If the manufacturing plant company importance and value group work, every member of the company will work with each other for the drive of taking care of the customers. The objective will be to make better the outcome of the work in order to make sure the output of the products is right.
Role conflicts within groups
Role conflict is a method of conflict typically produced from a person being enforced to perform irreconcilable and roles that are separate. Role conflict occurs when a person is undecided among doing different duties for various institutions. Role conflict among groups is one of the biggest issues that are affecting the productivity of the manufacturing plant company. The staff and production workers are expected to perform dissimilar conflicting roles like being a coworker and also the supervisor (Nishimura, 2011).
Role conflict in the manufacturing plant companies is very complex and it is furthermore personally challenging (Vilsteren, 2012). Role conflict in the organization happens due to the different duties that one have to different groups. In the manufacturing plant company research shows that role conflict among groups has happened since most of the individuals have numerous errands which are differing. On account of the numerous conflicting roles that the workers are projected to perform, it tend to disturb the productivity of the group.
One good example of role conflict that can be seen in the manufacturing plant company is, a when a manager is expected to work together with the person he is managing. This led to steady role conflict for the reason that the manager is projected to work both with the group that he is running, and likewise he is expected to report those members of the group who are underperforming. The floundering members are the ones who are faced with this issue of role conflict. The worker can be asked by their administrator to make sure that they upsurge quality control, and another manager can request them to make sure that they raise the production. Because of this conflict of roles it assumes the efficiency of the group in the hospital (Magnier-Watanabe, 2010). Role conflict has a pronounced influence to the group’s productivity. This is for the reason that every member of the group supposes to see positive behavior from another member where that person is anticipated to achieve their role. When the part of an individual is interrogated by another contrasting role, the outcomes that one receives are discouraging, and they even cause irritation. The member of the group who is confronted with the battle of roles tends to feel irritated by the inconsistencies, and this decreases their productivity.
Communication problem
Communication is one of the difficulties that have disturbed the productivity of the group in the
the manufacturing plant company. Poor communication has a habit of reducing the self-esteem of the group associates. Communication has been a problem for the reason that the members of the group do not appreciate what causes communication collapse and systems that they should utilize when it comes to group communication. The leaders of the business do not include each and every member of the association when making choices. When the managers order for interferences, the production workers are the ones accountable of making sure everything is on track. This is not the case in with this manufacturing plant company since the production workers and the managers do not work together and there is no communication that is effective. Each and every time there is a change in the status of the customers, the team members are not communicate this information whether it is a deterioration or improvement (Vilsteren, 2012). Some of these events need consideration from the workers physicians but then again, because of poor communication among the group members it affects the production of the group. Another problem that the manufacturing plant company faces are the lack of communication when the workers are changing shifts. The workers do not share all appropriate data about the care of the production and customer. Lack of communicating this material will pose a big issue to the patient, for the reason that the incoming workers does not know about the development of the production and customer which can affect their output.
Lack of cohesiveness
When a group that is in a state of unity, is the time its associates are possessing promises that tie them to each other and the complete cluster. The manufacturing plant company has one great issue that is disturbing the productivity of the group. The workers and all the workers of the manufacturing plant company are from a diverse community. This variety has produced a huge problem for the reason that the members of the group have a habit of discriminating one another consistent with color, ethnicity, race, and religion (Magnier-Watanabe, 2010). This taste has affected the productivity of the group. A strategy of lack of cohesiveness is when a white manager inclines to deride a black worker, and they do not work together in making sure that they take care of the customers. Lack of cohesiveness with diverse employees has resulted to go down in the productivity of the members (Vilsteren, 2012). The white individuals do not desire to communicate with the black and all through communication the leader tend to pay no attention to decisions which might be added by blacks. Cohesion typically comes from the promise of the group members to work together with the goal of finishing their task and also completing their objectives. The group members are not dedicated to functioning together and there is likewise poor communication among them, for the reason that some of the associates of the group are
actually divided into two parts. This division has really been making it hard for the group to attain their goal, which is enlightening productivity. There is not any kind of unity among the group members as one group does not desire to have any participation with the other.
Inter group conflict
Inter group conflict is a conflict that goes inside a group of workers who are working within a
An example of a disagreement that I discovered to have affected the production of the group thus producing inter group conflict is when a production worker tried not to follow the commands that the supervisor had provided when providing medication to the patient. Because of not following the instructions already laid out it resulted to some complication to the customer. This then causes some conflict between the supervisor and production worker. When one member is not sharing the same appeal as the other, it results to dispute for the reason that one person views the other one destructively.
Recommendation
The best means which the hospital the manufacturing plant company, should use in trying to resolve the issue of role conflict is by making good and open communication. This will assist in restricting the tension of role conflict. It will likewise make it recognized to all members that every individual has multiple parts to play. So as to Group Productivity In the manufacturing plant company: be able to resolve the difficult of communication, the staff, production workers, and all the other staff members are supposed to improve good communication system (Worley, C & Cummings, T 2009). The hospital is thought to have a communication system that focus on nearby information, it should have a way in which it will verify results when it is planning to communicate, and it likewise should apply information from sources that are credible. The staff production, managers, and supervisors should all work together as a team to in order to make sure that they attain the customer care that is needed.
The care management should be the ones that will make sure that they ensure communication among the members as these aids in firming the aptitude of all the health care services in giving efficient care and high quality (Gregory, M & Griffin, and R 2010). If the hospital performs good communication system, it will help in refining the productivity of the group. The best way of resolving the issue in the group on lack of cohesiveness with members that are diverse is by means of the group leader. The group leader is the one that is supposed to bring together every one of those that are members so that they can let them know how important it is to intermingle with individuals of various backgrounds. The members are supposed to have an appreciation of fitting and a having the feeling of recognition, and they will be able to interconnect with each other without any issues problem. The group leader should be the one that will incorporate individuals from diverse families in the groups so that they will be able to share diverse opinions on assured matters, how they are expected to converse with each other and the leadership flair that they want.
An advantage of cohesiveness is that it assists the members of the group to develop group
Loyalty and values that are shared (Magnier-Watanabe, 2010). This will generate a higher agreement among the members which will outcome to less dysfunctional conflict and bigger confidence with each other. This will later on bring some kind of reinforcement to the task cohesiveness and expand the productivity of the group. So as to make sure productivity of an organization, it is essential to identify the inter group conflict first. A method that can be utilized into reducing the inter group conflict among members is by fracturing it down into a lot of layers. This will help in finding out what was going on in the dispute. Communicational alterations can also be proposed as it will generate a good environment which will inspire the development and achievement of the hospital.
Conclusion
In the end, in order to improve group productivity, every one of the members is supposed to collaborate with one another in achieving the goals and advantages of the association. A good manager should lead the members on what they need to do so as to raise the performance. The members of the group need to find out the best way of answering to each other in terms of the capability of that specific individual to adding to the group’s goal. A method of resolving these difficulties is by each and every member obtaining a sense of responsibility for productivity and efficiency of the group. The association of the members will need to be founded on the aptitude and output to contributing to the group. It is clear that in order for the organization to function together as whole, they will have to all be on the same page.
