ANALYSIS OF MCDONALD’S MARKETING STRATEGY
Introduction
McDonald’s maintain the first position in the fast food industry through appropriately embracing the intrinsic and extrinsic attributes in its SWOT analysis. The evaluation addresses the weaknesses, the threats, opportunities and strength which may negatively or positively influence the success of the fast food restaurant (Businesscasestudies.co.uk, 2016). Additionally, the client’s expectations and perceptions of the restaurant also affect the success of the McDonald’s products in the contemporary market. This article, therefore, pinpoints the reactions of the fast food chain to the consumers’ perceptions and its effectiveness. Moreover, the report covers the recommended strategies that the food chain enterprise can employ with regards to the upcoming opportunities and even threats (Meyer, 2015).
The perception of the McDonald’s clients all over the world is a very crucial factor that may impact on the enterprise operations and ultimate success. In many other fast food chains, potential trendy products have most often failed due to their incapability to create and sustain a healthy perception in the minds of potential clients. Therefore, the McDonald’s comes with certain anticipations for the clients (Google.com, 2016).
As with all enterprises, especially the fast growing food industries, the consumers expect complete hygiene, sophistication, and transparency, which subsequently will result to brands reflecting on their values (Mourdoukoutas, 2013). The clients additionally expect the McDonald’s brands to improve appropriately their self-image.
The fast food restaurant also employs the demographic segmentation technique for proper positioning within the market. The technique utilizes the age factor, dividing the target age groups as youths, kids and urban families (Birman, 2013). For instance, if they want to lure mainly children in a particular location, they would put in place gift toys, decorative play sites, and delicacies, and for the youths, they would set up modern entertainment joints. These techniques have proven completely effective and, therefore, solved the threats of health considerations and vigorous competition (Bhasin, 2010).
