Abortion laws have come up to be one of the most burning issues of debate in the present times. However, it needs to be reckoned that abortion in itself has negative psychological impacts on the mind of the mother. There have been many cases of acute depression and psychological scar among the women, while the dynamics of the marital relationship or socialization has also been adversely affected after abortion. As such, this study would aim to delve deep into the scenarios that lead to psychological adversities after abortion, and would also explore the possible solutions to neutralize the adverse impacts on the minds of the women. It needs to be reckoned that the entire process of abortion needs to be scrutinized properly to gauge the reasons of the desire to abort while counseling the mother and the family about the possible impending impact so as to minimize the extent of psychological issues that come up after getting the child aborted.
The audience at present might not have delved too deep into the negative psychological impact of abortion on women, and need to have a better idea of the same. If any change is to be brought about in the entire process of abortion by inclusion of pre-abortion counseling, there needs to be societal awareness about the issue. The people have to comprehend that there is more to the matter than personal choice, morality or ethics. People have to be made aware of the vulnerabilities of women with respect to abortion of the child. As such, the proposed paper would delve into an avenue that is mostly left unchartered. The psychological impact is the most complicated one in cases of abortion. The paper would build on the thesis by analyzing the effects and the possible remedy to the problem in context. The major sections would include introduction, research problem, literature review, survey, interpretation of data, explication of the issue, and conclusion.
There are a number of questions related to the matter in context that need to be answered. Firstly, one needs to understand if there is any scope of understanding the psychological situation of the pregnant woman before aborting the child. Also, one needs to find out if the consent of the pregnant woman whole-hearted, or influenced by marital pressures, social pressures, economic stringency, or any other issues. These factors can play in having adverse effect on the psyche of the women after abortion. Moreover, it needs to be understood if there are proper medical psychological support available for the women going through abortion. The answer to the restoration or protection of the normalcy of psyche off the women going through abortion has to be found as well.
The research would find an inception in the close scrutiny of the available scholarly literature on the matter in context. Then, the paper would aim to build on the already existing data on the issue at hand. After theorization of the problem, the paper would take the course of both qualitative and quantitative research by conducting online surveys of women (ones who might have gone through abortion, and the ones who are ready to opine about the matter) to understand the issue more closely. This data would then be interpreted in accordance with the theoretical knowledge about the matter. There would be an in-depth discussion of the results with the recommendations and analysis of the matter. As such, the thesis statement would be supplemented with the writing as well as the data collected. In conclusion, the finding would be mentioned to sum up the paper, and any scope of future research would also be explored. Thus, the research work would aim to conduct a thorough analysis of the issue of psychological impact of abortion on women to find the reasons for the negative impact, gauge the general perspective of the women of the society or people suffering from such impact, and then tread toward a solution to the problem.
