Research Paper
Multinational Companies refers to a corporation that has facilities and or other assets in another country apart from its home country. For the purpose of accomplishing this assignment; two renowned Multinational Companies, Proctor and Gamble and Toyota Group have been chosen. Toyota group based in Japan was founded in the year 1926 by Kiirchiro Toyoda in the form of Toyota Industries Corporation and it happens to be one of the largest conglomerates in the world. Their product mainly includes automobiles and financial services and it continuously strives to diversify in various sectors.
Proctor & Gamble on the other hand was founded in the year 1837 by William Proctor and James Gamble. They are one of the biggest and most admired companies in the world.
As expected from any Multinational Corporation, the website of Toyota is also quite dynamic and it includes information for a varying range of stakeholders. We have analyzed the website from the viewpoint of employees, customers and the community in general.
Employees can use their website for getting the latest news and updates regarding their company and to know it better. Toyota is a big corporation and the employees may not always be aware of their company’s activities in another country, therefore, their website acts as a suitable platform through which they can know events going on throughout the company.
The website is also extremely customer and user friendly. The site states the different innovative products they are creating under the INNOVATION tab. Apart from these customers can also have a glimpse of the various products offered at their showrooms, under the SHOWROOM tab.
The website also contains information regarding the sustainable projects undertaken by Toyota; including, CSR projects, Sustainability reports and Environmental reports. All these information reflects the contributions made by Toyota towards the community and its various stakeholders.
Proctor & Gamble Website
Similar to Toyota, Proctor & Gamble also has a vibrant website that is aimed at a range of stakeholders.
Employees can benefit from the News & Media section of the website. It also clearly states the mission and the vision of the company and lets the employees have a clear idea of what they are striving for.
Proctor and Gamble boasts a rich collection of well-known brands and it classifies all of them under the BRAND tab of the website. It has been sub-classified according to beauty and grooming, household care and latest innovative products. It lets the customers sieve through their desired information quickly and more effectively. Proctor & Gamble also has information specifically directed towards the community and the how they have also involved their employees in those activities.
Differences and Similarities
Since Proctor & Gamble mainly focuses on consumer products; its website also dictates the benefits that can be gained from using those products. Conversely, the website of Toyota mainly focuses on the technical aspects of the automobiles that it sells.
Both the websites of Toyota and Proctor & Gamble shows the sustainability projects and the CSR activities undertaken by them. This shows as a Multinational Corporation both the companies realise the contributions they should make and the affect they have on the environment.
Japanese people are more inclined towards their tradition and heritage which is evident from its website as well. It mentions the rich and vibrant history of how the Toyota Corporation has evolved over the years. In contrast, the Proctor & Gamble website has a global approach when it comes to promoting their heritage and traditions.
