Introduction
This research looks at the effects of the national budget for education on the economic development. According to the researches that have been conducted by numerous people it has been found that countries where the national budget for education is higher the development and economy is also very good but in countries where the national budget for education is lower or cut down the economy and development is also lower. This means that it is very important for the government to take these researches to heart and make changes that will benefit the people and the country (Thomas and. Hungerford 2004).
The research question
If countries spare a lot of money for education, could the economic development be more?
It has been observed that the budget for education has brought about different effects on the development of a country. This means that it is very vital for the government to set aside a financial plan for education. The hypothesized relationship in this proposal is the independent valuable which is the national budget for education while the dependent valuable is the enhancement of the economic development. The proposal will identify the effects the country’s economy develops due to education. This research ensures that the government sees the need for all people to get education in order to have a better future for themselves and the country. This will give people in the country a chance to be well educated and be able to get skills that will boost the economy.
Literature review
It is a fact in accordance to the literature that all citizens in the world have a right to education in order to increase the economy of the country and themselves (Bogart and Brian 1997). This means that they should get a better budget that will cater for all the children’s need for their education. In areas such as the United States of America there have been major debates on regards to the funding of education. This has brought about many researches by different people in the world. According to Delisle (2013) the United States of America have budgeted over 106 billion dollars for the education allocation which is considered to be a third of the national budget plan. The major conclusion that has come out is that the end results for spending money in education is that the same children will bring about developments thus increasing the economy of the country. It has been observed that most parents prefer taking their children to schools where they know they will get better education thus it becomes a hassle for parents who are unable to afford to take their children to private schools. In the public schools it has become a problem for most countries because they do not get enough funding thus they don’t get enough materials for children such as books and computers.
According to the literatures there are many concerns when it comes to increasing the national budgets because the world is experiencing economical crisis thus it becomes a huddle for the government to allocate funds in the various fields such as education (Michael 2013). This could become a problem for the citizens because when the government does decide to increase the budgets this could mean that the taxes have to be increased. Most people in the country will not like this thus will start campaigns to oppose this proposal thus will force the government to reduce some of the budget in areas such as education. This has become one of the causes for many people in the world to not be well educated in order to increase the economy and development of the country. All children in the world have the same dreams in that they wish to have good lives. When having this good life one has to be well-educated thus it is important for them to be assured to this fact.
Methodology for data collection
The figure for the national expenditure for education by the government is very important for people to note in order for one to be able to make the exact amount used for the students in schools. This enables the teachers and students to acquire materials which will make the learning process easier. This will also enable the schools to find ways in which the students who have special need to get the materials that will make their learning process easier.
Sampling methods
When conducting a research one always collects data after one sample the information. There are different types of sampling methods but in this research the probability method will be the best. In the probability method the researcher will be able to make the assumptions of the event that will take place. In this research the event taking place is economic development when there is national budgeting for education.
Step 1: The simple random sampling will be the choice because the whole population is free and available for the researcher to ask questions and get information. This is also a chance for the citizens to provide their input about the national budget for education.
Step 2: Interval sampling. This is essential especially when the government officials who are in charge for the allocation of the national budget provide their input. This will give them an opportunity to give reasons of why other areas in the national budget got higher allocations than in the education field.
Step 3: The clustered sampling. This will be used in an area that is wide thus the population is dispersed in different parts. The clusters are randomly chosen in order to have information from all the people in different areas.
Data collection methods
When collecting of data the methods that will be mostly used are the survey, experiments, interview, magazines and content analysis.
Survey data collection
This is when the data is collected for the sole purpose of statistical storage. This involves different ways of collecting the survey data such as the telephone or mobile survey which is one of the most common methods that is used by most researchers to collect data. This will make the researcher have no big issues in regards of time and they are able to reach a wide range of people to interview. There are some phones such as the smart phones which have applications that are useful in storing the data collected from the people. This makes it easy for the researcher to have the information needed for future reference. The researcher is also able to reach some of the interviews who earlier could not be reached and thus will be able to complete collecting their data (Michael 2013).
The online survey
This is one of the mainly central ways of collecting the survey data because a diversity of people in the world has access to the internet. The researcher will use the social Medias such as Facebook or twitter to get data by use of the questioners about the effect of national budget for education on economic development. There are many people who would respond to this because it affects their day to day life and also they could have their own opinions about the matter. This will enable the researcher to get their statistics on the matter from people from all over the world. The advantages of using the online survey to collect data are that it is faster and cheaper for the researcher to get the information they need. The other advantage is that the researcher will be able to connect to different people from different countries thus will be able to collect data for different countries. The main disadvantage for this data collection is that not many people will answer the questioners thus could cause researcher to not get accurate survey. This will cause the researcher to give the people some incentive in order to get the data.
Experiments data collection
The researcher could performs experiments on people randomly by having groups of people who are from schools with less funding and those who attended schools that were well funded. In this experiment the researcher will observe the behaviors of the two individuals and make a conclusion. The researcher could also add outsiders to check the characters of the two individuals. This will enable the researcher to get a feedback from the people who participated in the experiment on the difference or similarities between the two participants. This type of data collection enables people to see the problem of the matter at hand personally and thus will be able to have the data of the problem which could be accurate.
Interview
The interview has different ways in which a researcher is able to collect the data such as the one on one interview. The interview should set a time period in which the interviews will take place such as 8 months. The people who are being interviewed should be placed in groups in order for the researcher will be able to interact with all the people thus will be able to get the different opinions of the people while they argue about the issue. This will also enable the researcher to get the thoughts and feelings of the people being interviewed. The researcher should also give the interviewee an opportunity to air their views without any interruptions from them just like in the case of a psychologist and a patient. During these interviews the researcher has to record everything that is happening by using the tape recorder and writing down useful information. The researcher will ask questions about that are relevant to the study. There are a number of questions that could be used in this case such as what is you take on the national budget for education and how is it relevant for the economic development? Or do you think the national budget for education affects the economic development of a country?
This is the process in where the spoken or the written material collected for data is analyzed by the researcher using the computer. This type of data collection is well known to use the secondary data. The computer that is used to sort the data must be programmed for this kind of work. This will make sure the consistency of the work. One of the main advantages of this kind of data collection is that the information obtained will not be tampered easily by anyone. The main disadvantages are that it is time-consuming and tedious for the researcher. There are many challenges of validity and biasness by the researchers therefore it is their job to ensure that they put their personal interest aside for the sake of the study. The generalization is also a problem in research because sometimes the researcher will net get enough materials and ends up generalizing the issue.
Limitations
The intentions for this study might have been pure but there are a number of limitations when it comes to the research in areas such as time and the space. The time taken to do this study was limited therefore; the researcher was unable to make complete collection of the data. The space provided to conduct the research was limited therefore; the equipment used for storage and collection of data had to be put some place else thus became tedious for the researcher to move equipments from one area to another leading to wasting time. So it is important for the time and space to be enough to get better and right results in the research. The accessibility of cases was hard due to the distance the researcher had to get to the people. This made it hard for the researcher to get as many people as possible for the research thus might have compromised the case study (Bogart and Brian 1997).
This shows that the researcher should have a way in which they will be able to reach the people easily such as using vehicles. If the population in which the researcher is doing the interview were from different ethnicity thus there was a problem in the language barrier this becomes a major issue. This will then affect the research tremendously because the people and the researcher will not be able to communicate thus will not be able to collect the data. The funding for the study should be sufficient in order for the researcher to be able to get accurate findings about the case. When the funding is not sufficient then the whole research could go down the drain because their nothing that could be done without money.
Significance of this research
The significance for this research is to show the government and the people the importance of funding for the education in order to increase the economic development of the country. These researches will interest three major academic disciplines such as the education, sociology and economics. In the education discipline the study shows that all people in the world need to be well educated to stop illiteracy. The sociology discipline in this study is that the society will be developed and people could live morally when they know the advantages of being moral, this is achieved through education. The economics discipline in this research is that when people are well educated they acquire skills which are used in developments that increase the economy of the country. The gap of information that this research fills is that it provides records of the importance of the national budget set aside for education for the economic development for the country. This research has will provide the government with evidence of this issue which will enable them to make policy decisions that will eradicate some of the problems that came up in the research.
