Research Question
How has globalization changed local culture?
Hypothesis
Globalization has diluted and compromised most local cultures in developing countries
Development of Research Instruments
The research aims to determine the extent to which globalization has diluted local cultures in developing countries. The accomplishment of this goal will employ three research instruments, including; the statistical data method, comparative and field methods.
Statistical data Method
Positivists largely depend on this method since it is believed to be the most convenient and efficient way to evaluate society and its problems. Since this research will adopt a sociological topic and delve into a social question, this method will suffice. For example, the rate of people adopting other cultures over time (number of years) and happening in a particular area makes sociologists see society's present scenario. A questionnaire is designed to provide data about changes in the local cultures due to globalization. The following goals will guide the development of the questionnaire
To ensure the usefulness of the data by addressing significant issues of concern, for instance, the factors contributing to change in local culture.
To ensure comparability of data between different cultures and in varying periods to determine the change.
The questionnaire will first have an introductory section, briefing on the purpose of the study, description of information asked, instructions on how to answer the questions, the time allowed, and a statement about the study's congeniality. The researcher will also include their author for clarification or questioning. The questionnaire will then be divided into four distinct question parts as follows;
- Socio-demographic information age, sex, education, and migration background).- This part will seek personal information about the participant
- Cultural background- This part will seek to trace the participant's cultural characteristics, origins, and position
- General understanding factors- Questions will seek to understand the participants 'understanding of the meanings of the keywords in the research question.
- Cultural activities and collaborations- This part will have lead questions on the participant to examine the participant collaboration with other cultures and the impact.
- Results of collaborations/Collaborative results- To determine participants' opinions on their experience after cultural collaborations and anything changed.
The method will have two sets of participants, one being the control group that remains important for statistical analysis. Translation will be provided upon request by the participants and shall be indicated on the questionnaire. The question items will then be chosen to operationalize the scale in question and determine scores (Apuke 2017). The scales are given up to five points. Guides for many responses include; Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Neutral, Agree, Strongly Agree, showing the responses' magnitude. Hence strongly disagree =1, strongly agree=5.
Field Method
When answering the sociological question, the researcher will consider carrying out experiments to observe people's interaction ability with other cultures either physically or online fora thus categorizing them as accommodating, reserved or pragmatic (mixing several cultures). For this method, open-ended interview questions are designed with the researcher engaging the participants and record responses. Participants' names may not matter, although some socio-demographic information like age, sex, and ethnicity would remain helpful in comparison and compilation. The participants will mostly give YES or No answers or other simple structured questions. The final report of the researcher will give data leading to answers to the question. The example below shows an example of the data distribution and sample code analysis in the researchers report;

Table1: Showing how data from interviews is obtained and corded for Analysis and Comparison.
This table will be designed after the interview process for a quick analysis of the responses obtained. The coding part remains essential for the researcher when conducting a comparative study. It is assumed to improve the measurement and estimation accuracy and provide various prerequisites of expertise development besides the hypothesized set. It will also guide in discovering the critical antecedent in the research. In the final categorization, the researcher can then use the responses obtained to categorize individuals in their cultures.
Comparative Method
In this sociological study, the researcher will compare different societies and cultures; after observing every factor, the researcher will develop some theories under their research work. This method will use questionnaires with the questions designed in descriptive nature (Apuke 2017). The questions will seek to describe different phenomena and how the occurrences in the phenomena vary between case/individual cultures. In the research question provided, individuals can be asked different occasions or word interpretations of different cultures and determine the variance in their responses. The questionnaire will still have the introductory part, with the socio-demographic questions put first. Other questions will be descriptive, though not lengthy. Depending on the number of cases, the researcher might be interested in grouping cases by identifying two or more responses with similarities and relate to the hypothesis. The method may also apply to scale with the five-point scale attached to the responses.
