The following paper is aimed at studying and intercepting the laws governing quarantine. Even though formulated for the benefit of the masses, quarantine has been under scanner because of its misuse concerning prejudice against particular sect, religion, ethnicity etc. The paper has been written with an open mind and aims to understand the underlying benefits of quarantine and how its successful implementation will benefit human race in general.
The following paper has been written with the view to detail the laws of Quarantine in the USA. The state and federal government have laid down basic rules and regulations concerning quarantine which have been explored further in the ensuing paper.
The laws of quarantine are rather strict and rigid in US as they are aimed at providing maximum security to the population dwelling in US. Quarantine is a complicated issue that has to oversee the interest of both the individual as well as the public at large. Past instances have revealed misuse of quarantine due to prejudice and have since been under the scanner. Even though formulated for the safety of the population, quarantine misuse cannot be overlooked. A contagious disease may not take much time to travel throughout the length of the country, afflicting millions, therefore proper implementation of quarantine is important.
The paper delves into cases wherein there has been rampant misuse of the quarantine powers. Furthermore the paper explains the rules and regulations concerning quarantine and puts forward both the sides of quarantine. As a health measure for the population, it is a very powerful tool, but understanding its dynamics is imperative for a better understanding of the rules governing quarantine. The laws of quarantine differ from state to state, below a detailed explanation is provided regarding the law and the similarities and differences between states with regards to its implementation, authority and non- compliance penalty. Also the federal quarantine law is discussed and how it affects the local state quarantine laws.
The main aim of the paper is to address quarantine and educate the reader regarding its uses and limitations.
