William Shakespeare was born on April 23rd, 1564 in a small town Stratford-upon-Avon. Shakespeare was a great English dramatist, poet and actor. He was often called the English national poet, and a lot of people agree with me that he also was the greatest dramatist of all time. It is believed that Shakespeare attended the Stratford "grammar school", where he studied Latin, Greek and got the basics knowledge of ancient mythology, history and literature, which were reflected in his work. The first time we hear about Shakespeare as a writer was in 1592, in a Robert Greene’s pamphlet “On mad penny bought a million of repentance," where Greene said about him as a dangerous rival. In 1594, Shakespeare enrolled one of the shareholders of the troupe Richard Burbage "Servants of the Lord Chamberlain”, and in 1599 Shakespeare became one of the owners of the new theater “The Globe." By this time, Shakespeare becomes sufficiently wealthy man, buys second-largest house in Stratford. For many years, Shakespeare engaged in usury, and in 1605 became the tithe -farmers. In 1612 Shakespeare leaves London and returns to his native Stratford. March 25, 1616 compiled by the notary will and April 23, 1616, on his birthday, Shakespeare dies.
Paucity of biographical information and a huge variety of unexplained facts gave a possibility to nominate a lot of different people as authors of Shakespeare’s works. Until now, there are many hypotheses that Shakespeare's plays were written by a completely different person. For more than two centuries of these versions on the “role " of the author of these plays were put forward a variety of applicants - from Francis Bacon and Christopher Marlowe to the pirate Francis Drake and Queen Elizabeth. There were versions that under the name of Shakespeare’s hide entire team of authors. At the moment, there are already 77 candidates for authorship. However whoever he was - and in many disputes about the identity of the great playwright and poet point will be delivered not soon, perhaps as never. The works of Renaissance genius today still inspire filmmakers and actors around the world.
Shakespeare's entire career the interval from 1590 to 1612 is usually divided into three or four periods. Among them there are the optimistic period, the tragic period, and the romantic period. The great play “Romeo and Juliet” was written at the end of optimistic period. However, we can find that this play also had romance and tragedy in it. General language of Shakespeare's drama is extraordinarily rich. This character has plenty of tropes such as metaphors, allegories, etc. William Shakespeare used a lot of forms of lyric poetry in his plays among them there are sonnet, canzone, album, epithalamium, etc. White verse, which he mostly used in his plays, is flexible and naturalness. This explains the huge appeal of Shakespeare for translators. Shakespeare’s works were translated to many different languages, and a lot of people can admire him wonderful plays, poems, tragedies, etc.
Minimalism of stage tools of Renaissance allowed Shakespeare's drama organically integrate into the new stage of development of World Theater, dating from the early 20th century. It is impossible to list all the general principles of numerous Shakespearean productions - from detailed household interpretation to the extreme conditional symbolic, from farce and comedy to the elegiac, philosophical or mysteries - tragic. It is curious that Shakespeare's plays are still focused on the audience of almost any level - from intellectuals to aesthete’s undemanding audience. This, along with complex philosophical issues, promote and complicated affair, and a kaleidoscope of different scenic episodes, interspersed with comedy pathetic scene, and the inclusion in the main action fights, music rooms, etc.
Romeo and Juliet is the highest of the tragedies of love, which is only capable of creating a human genius. The tragedy that does not descend from the stage to this day, to this day sounded like written yesterday. A lot of centuries and years will pass, but one thing remains and will always remain the same:
"For never was a story of more woe,
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo. " (Shakespeare)
The play "Romeo and Juliette" is written in 2 genres tragedy and romance. Tragedy is a great form of drama, specifically allowing dramatic struggle inevitable and necessary death of the hero and the special nature of different dramatic conflict. Tragedy in its basis has not any struggle with obstacle's personality, but only deep ideological conflict, the clash of worldviews. So we can see it the play. In the end both of them Romeo and Juliet die, and this is a real tragedy. They loved each other, but unfortunately different circumstances didn’t allow them to be together. So, we see how tragic the end of this story is. However, Shakespeare gives us a wonderful love story, a romance. Romance in literature is a small epic poem, which sets out the few traits event, though ordinary, but stimulating imagination and feeling. Occurred earlier in the southern countries romance differ live exposure and bright colors, while the ballad owned Nordic countries, mainly portrays a gloomy, serious, mysterious in nature and the human soul.
Romeo and Juliet are different, but they have found couple things in common, and this thing is love. They love each other, despite all the family fighting. Montague and Capulet are the two fighting families. Both of them have children; both of wish only the best for their children. However, the families didn’t see that all Romeo and Juliet wanted was love. They just wanted to be together, but Montague and Capulet were enemies. Romeo is one of the main characters of Shakespeare's plays, the young son of the Montague family, and an ancient and respectable family clan in Verona. Old Montague worried about the strange state of mind of his son. Romeo doesn’t want to share with his father causes his sorrow, which plunged into the abyss with his head. Romeo says a lot about the treachery of his " sweetheart," his misfortune, the sorrows of love, constantly complaining. As we learn later, this "love" was far-fetched, manipulative. Young Romeo was just looking for a way to have fun, and the image of the unfortunate lover the best suited his passionate youthful nature. Brother Lorenzo calls his fillings " stupid fervor." In Verona everyone has a good attitude to Romeo, he is noble. Even old Capulet, head of warring families, says positive things about Romeo. Romeo is impartial hostility to families, not looking for fights and skirmishes, not bloodthirsty. He mourns the fact that he had shed the blood of his enemies, but Romeo did in need to stand up for the honor of his murdered by Tybalt friend Mercutio. After meeting Juliet Capulet Romeo's soul, completely flipped to the other side. Now he experienced true feelings, has known true love.
Juliet is a complex character. She became the personification of loyalty, devotion, courage and eternal youth. Love and Juliet are inseparable, and Juliet is the love itself. At the beginning of the tragedy, Shakespeare shows us Juliet Capulet, the usual light-hearted girl, surrounded by loving caring father and mother, cousin Tybalt. Juliet lives in abundance; she respected noble family in Verona. Juliet always obedient to the will of the father and mother. Therefore, an unexpected proposal from mother to look at the ball to the young Count Paris as a possible groom, Juliet responds with unquestioning consent. At the first Juliet reveals her prone to desperate struggle character when she goes against her parents and contradicts her the angry father rejecting rendered her the honor of becoming the wife of the groom of their choice. For her, it was a very difficult time of life.
Two camps appear to us in the tragedy. On one hand, people implacably hostile Montagues and Capulets . Both live by the law of tribal revenge. Most furious follower principle vendetta young Tybalt , burning hatred for all Montagues , even if they did not cause him any harm ; he was their enemy simply for the fact that they belong to a hostile family . Another group of characters the tragedy already wants to live according to other laws. This desire does not arise as a theoretical principle, and as a natural living feeling. So suddenly there is a mutual love of the young Montague and Capulet couple. Both easy forget their enmity families, because both of them were in love. The opponent of hatred is monk Lorenzo. He helps Romeo and Juliet, hoping that their marriage will be the beginning of reconciliation childbirth. Thus, the followers of the law of vendetta confront people who want to live differently in obedience to the feelings of love and friendship.
"Romeo and Juliet" - not just a beautiful story of tragic love. Shakespeare's works claim advanced for the time vital principles of humanism in the public and private life. Termination of feudal strife, peace and order in the country, led by a wise and just ruler is the social basis of the tragedy. Adoption of love as the basis of family life is a moral idea, approvable by Shakespeare.
Death of Romeo and Juliet makes such an impression on their parents that they are reconciled and put an end to hostility. So the love of two young heroes has a real impact. Their reconciliation is influenced by the terrible end of the young heroes whose death was a tragic lesson, forcing parents understand the senselessness of their fierce enmity. Romeo and Juliet's love triumphed over inhuman custom of blood revenge. However the price paid for it is very big. The tragedy and the fact that only the sacrifice of young heroes could stop swords, ready to shed blood without end.
