There are times when it is paramount for one top make a decision and stand by it. There have been instances where we have been helped by our folks to make different judgments. During these times, there is partial responsibility as to who will be responsible for the outcome of events. There are other times when you are supposed to make the judgments yourself. It is at these times that we have caution over the incidences as well as the results that we expect from our actions. This responsibility allows us to take much caution over the exercises that we assign ourselves. Due to this, different people will know the different limits that they can reach concerning the amount of exercises they assign themselves. The consequences that follow our actions are what most people fear. People are afraid of associating themselves with actions and creatures that they cannot handle properly. It is through this that people will constantly enquire before making major decisions either amongst themselves until they arrive at the best answer. This is necessary for many people as they work to avoid unnecessary problems whereas they can avoid it.
There have been several incidences in my life where I have been forced to rely on myself to make different decisions that have been useful in my life. There are other incidences that I am not very proud of. As expected, on a long journey, one is expected to make stop overs due to the fatigue that the body gains. The travelling days were special days to me most of the time. They brought a sense of delight in me that no other activity did. On this particular instance however, I was changing travelling vehicles along the way as the journey was pretty long. I took care of the fact that this would be pretty tiresome for me. I had to carry packed refreshments as well as packed food. This however was to turn out into one of the few memorable events that changed my life. This was the last part of the stop overs that I was making as I was travelling. This place however did not suit the standards that were in my fantasies. I climbed off the bus that was arriving in this last destination and then I sought for a place to relax and wait for the next vehicle that was due two hours before it arrived. I had plenty of time to move around and acquaint myself with the surroundings.
It was at the bus stop where I was seated next to a middle-aged woman with a few months baby. The baby was crying a lot. The baby was hungry I could tell and the woman was somehow confused as she seemed at distant thoughts. After a few hours of silence between us, she broke the silence. She asked me if I could hold her baby for a while as she searched for food across the shops. Without hesitation I agreed. Surprisingly enough, the baby did not cry while she was in my arms. Intrigued by this, I started playing with her. It was after a few minutes that I noticed that the lady was not yet back from the simple activity she was to do. I was worried that something worse may have happened to her while she was on her way from or to the bus stop.
Minutes evolved into hours and the lady seemed to have just vanished from the surrounding sights as well as her daughter. The bus that I was to travel in came and left me since there was no one in place to leave in the performance. As dusk was approaching, I knew there was something that needed to be done fast. This was determined and clearly something something I would do. The baby was now hungry as she resumed her previous form of crying a lot. I took the little baby to a police station and I reported all that has been happening. I also stated that the baby should be adopted if at all the mother of the baby did not claim the baby in a period of six mothers.
In conclusion, I was able to live with the decision that I made on that particular night while the baby was young. I frequently visit her at the children’s home. The baby enjoys happiness that she would not enjoy had I left her at the bus stop benches. This decision was not influenced by anyone but me. It was this decision that influenced me on other decisive moments. Through this decision, I was able to accept the responsibility of watching over what happens with my life. This is self-reliance.
