Men commit different types of sins daily. Each sin is justified by the persons who commit the sin. I agree with Gandhi’s “pleasure without sin” as this sin is probably one of the most popular sins that persons commit without even realizing that the actions is morally and ethically wrong and that it goes against the teachings of the Bible. Most persons seek pleasure and are not concerned with how their actions impact on those around them. In fact, persons who immature, selfish, greedy and sensuous are the ones who have sinned as they only seek pleasure because of the benefits they can gain and whether they are pleased with the outcome of their actions. According to Gandhi, Covey notes that most persons seek this pleasure without sin by neglecting their children and partners (Covey 1990). The truth is that the price of pleasure is high for everyone. Nevertheless, Gandhi believed that pleasure must come from an inner force that touches the soul and gives excitement through the care of others.
Agreeably, the relationship between persons and their families and friends is important and can be fulfilling. But very often we forget the spiritual pleasure that life has to offer and instead indulge in the physical pleasures. The truth is that one’s man’s physical pleasure often leads to another man’s pain and suffering as the cost of pleasure in today’s society is very high and does not include having a conscience. Most persons tend to forget the integral truth that the conscience is the internal guide to the natural law and teachings of the Bible. The absence of conscience in gaining pleasure is unavoidable in this society as most advertisement places emphasis on indulging in personal desires and to act without conscience (Covey, 1990) because persons deserve to have the finer things in life even at the expense of others.
Pleasure without conscience also occurs through direct relations to gaining wealth without working in an honest job. The truth is the search for pleasure leads persons to sell and take drugs and this costs their families and the society additional financial burdens when pleasure seekers become ill.
God is not against spiritual pleasure but urges persons to avoid the youthful passions pr pleasure and seek righteousness, love, peace and faith (2 Timothy 2:22, Anselem Academic Study Bible 2013). In addition, Proverbs 21:17 remind persons that he who loves pleasure will be a poor man (Anselem Academic Study Bible 2013).
