Similarities and differences between the United States Declaration of Independence (1776) and Bill of Rights, the French Declaration of the Rights of Man (1789); and Haitian Declaration of Independence (1804).
All the three documents advocates for men being created equally and the creator has endowed everyone with definite unalienable rights, including the right to happiness, life, and liberty. According to these documents, contempt and neglect of these rights were the primary cause of the public calamities. Therefore, it is the duty of the government to secure these rights.
In the three documents, the citizens are complaining of the inhuman government activities, failures, and corruption. The government had failed in the preservation of the rights of men. They condemn tyranny, and they continue by stating that, it is their right to abolish any form of government that is destructive and fails to protect its citizen right and institute a new one.
All the three document address the issue of military force they acknowledge their efforts. However, emphasize is on establishing the military force for the benefit of everyone but not to serve the needs of an individual.
Differences
The France declaration looks at the rights of its citizens while the Haitian declaration and France declaration complains about the injustices their citizen faced. Haitian declaration has a deep hatred for France. The United States declaration, on the other hand, complains about the injuries caused by the tyranny system.
The France declaration advocates for the freeness and peace. While the in the Haitian declaration the citizens choose to live an independent live or die, they say they will kill anyone born French. While the United States Declaration focuses on its people needs to dissolve the political bands connecting them.
The France declaration focuses on the rights of its citizen whereas Haitian and United States declaration contains information of its colonizers. The Haitian declaration talks of the French, who had caused bloodshed in their country for two centuries. United States declaration explains how the king of Great Britain had caused a lot of injustices and damage.
