Introduction
Facebook is widely known social network tool that is used by different users for different purposes across the globe. Facebook attracts 845 million users globally. These statistics shows that; there are more Facebook users in the entire globe, and these users use the social network tool for different functions. Facebook attracts individuals as well as corporates to reach out to the outside world. These functions include; marketing, relay of important information, and enlightening the public about some life based issues.
Marketing through Ads
Facebook group allows users to use the site freely. It has free entry, free exit policy that does not discriminate against any potential user. This, therefore gives a platform to a potential user to share their information freely without any discrimination. There are worldwide claims that Facebook uses this information from its subscribers to the advertising companies. The advertising companies then use the information provided by Facebook to create marketing ads. These ads usually pop over on the screen whenever an individual logs into one's account. The content of these ads are general private information about the Facebook users that the advertising company uses to market its product to the public.
This information lacks in-depth support whatsoever by any Facebook user. It is quite clear that the company deserves to safeguard any vital private information that an individual provides to Facebook, when one's signs in to use the Facebook services (Andrews, n.p.). Therefore, this information about Facebook using private information as a marketing tool lacks the possible threshold of enforceability. Ads are created by marketers who are interested in marketing their goods and services to the Facebook subscribers; they create these ads under due license from the Facebook company to use its website for the advertisements. Therefore, pure allegations privy to information sharing by Facebook group is pure malice. This information is confusing and is meant to break the trust by the public onto subscribing for the Facebook services.
Safeguard of Private Information
Facebook safeguards all the necessary private information of its subscribers against any potential violation by third party users (Bedi et al. n.p.). All the private information including; private messages, and bio-information of the subscribers are safeguarded upon by the management. Claims whereby the Facebook management is accused of sharing the private messages of its subscriber’s advertisers can be termed as a rumor. The Facebook management deserves to withhold all the necessary private messages of all the Facebook users against any potential violation by advertisers. Generally, private messages of any Facebook user are found at the private portal of the user’s account. This means that, the management cannot have an access to these messages prior to permission from the user.
Advertisers use their own market speculation techniques to market their product through Facebook. This marketing technique is based on an assumption about the potential consumer target. Therefore, by nature of the assumption, a Facebook user might find himself on the receiving end if he finds that the information provided by the advertiser relates to his real life wants. This, therefore, creates a platform for the general assumption that Facebook shares the private messages of the users. Sale of company shares by the Facebook management to the public gives a clear platform to the users that; the welfare of their privacy is deeply under control because the company is changing from private to public. This, therefore, gives the investors a chance to make streamlined decisions about their company for the welfare of their company, and for the interest of the users. They do not wish to lose any user whatsoever irrespective of any reason. This gives them more reason to safeguard private information of its users.
Will the information in these three articles change your own use of Facebook in a way? Why or Why Not?
Introduction
No. the information from the articles will not change my Facebook use at all. This is due to some specified reasons; Facebook deserves to safeguard any private information about any user at any given time (MacDonald et al. n.p.). This is prior to the friendly user policy that an individual user ascents to when signing in as a new user. This provides a platform of maximum security against any possible violation of private information concerning individuals by the company.
Facebook provides a platform for interacting freely with advertisers and corporate sector through chats and private messages. This provides a reason enough for maximum safety of ones account because; the management will not allow a situation whereby the advertiser takes advantage over the general bio-information of any user to market its products and services. This line with all the state laws allows for maximum privacy of any private information of a user or client by being disseminated by a given company to the marketing company (Semitsu, n.p.).
Conclusion
Facebook Company is interested on safeguarding the interests of its users. Therefore, an incidence whereby the management is accused of discharging private information of a given user to the public should attract an investigation.
