Among all kinds of art, maybe only music is able to put the listener into the world of certain period and make him or her not just aware the processes in the piece of music, but feel it and live in its atmosphere. Music is the strongest emotional impulse of life. Every man listens to the most favourite genre or genres. The classical music has the reputation as the highest point in the world of sounds. Though, this attitude puts classical music in a dramatically ignorant place (Sandow 2). In any case, this music is supposed to have not so many admirers. Bourdieu believes that a work of art has meaning and interest only for someone who possesses the cultural competence (2). What factors does this interest in music depend on? The very important things are education and the conditions of bringing up. Associative thinking reveals in the childhood and in future it will become useful or not. A person who is interested in painting may easily hear the sound of raindrops in the music theme of Debussy Summer Rain. A lot of famous and talented rock musicians of the contemporary period were previously painters or designers. But people need special knowledge to understand how the musical pictures mirror the reality. Listening to classical music is like reading a philosophy books (Penderski 2). Music is always something more than just a matter of taste (Johnson 12). Music is considered in the context of era and connection with history and other pieces of art. Such perception of life may be expected from a person with a definite level of education that often means success. This person often works creatively and gains not only material income but the development of the perception of aesthetics. Music means figurative, but not informative approach. Maybe that is why, the classical music admirers are often considered as the representatives of the higher class of the society.
CLASSICAL MUSIC of the ROMANTIC PERIOD
The term classical music usually applies to the music of strict rules and forms of construction. The romantic period of classical music is the part of the one wonderful world of classical music. The composers-romantic are among the brightest representatives of the classical music. One of the best-known composers of that period is Frederic Chopin. The classical music of the romantic period differs, for example, from the jazz music. Jazz means improvisation. This is the art of multilevel communication on the language of music. The essence of jazz is in the process of performance, as it is always unexpected and this kind of music always means complicated rhythm (Levine 44).
FREDERIC CHOPIN
Frederic Chopin as nobody else could create in his masterpieces the illusion of the emotion and states that are not always expressed by words. The listener who is prepared for this music can feel it. Chopin's Etude №12 could be served as an example. The composer wrote it when his compatriots had taken to streets for their freedom in his home-city Warsaw. The name of this piece of music is Revolutionary and it tells about that event. To gain the whole impression of the etude a man should know the history of the revolt in Poland and about love of the musician to his country. And then it may be heard that this music is full of passion. The passages in low register of the piano are rapidly increasing (Davies 32). They make the images of worrying and storms of life (Davies 32). On the background the energetic and willful motive is constantly repeated. It is like a fanfare that calls for action. The listener has the impression that in spite of the complicity of life, the composer had found inner strength not obey to this tragic situation. In the high register of the piano there is sorrow which is changed by forte that means soul confusion and protest (Davies 33).
People who are not prepared for this kind of music also listen to this etude. These are listeners, who want to hear and understand it. They get the impressions and most probably, they will want to listen to Chopin' music again. A lot of humans neither understand nor appreciate classical music. Most likely it happens because of laziness, they just don't want to work over the imagination, it is not interesting for them. The encounter with a work of art is not love at first sight (Bourdieu 2).
CONCLUSION
Considering everything that was written, it may be concluded that it is impossible to support categorically the opinion that the music exists only for the qualified individuals, though they are interested in it. There are people whose tastes were heavy influenced by the piece of classical music which had been heard just once. There is the third category, which representatives don't want to listen to classical music. Unfortunately, they deprive themselves of a lot of different musical colours. Listening to music, we don't just perceive its beauty, but start thinking about the problems and life of its creators. There would be a lot of changes for the better, if music became the part of each person’s life.
