Stakeholder Identification.
The state of Florida has numerous stakeholders that deal with various departments that provide services to the residents of Florida. The health department attracts numerous stakeholders that provide different services in conjunction with the state health department. Internal stakeholders form an integral part of the execution and provision of support services to the Department of Health Services according to Kamalesh and Subramanian (1998). Internal stakeholders in the State of Florida include the senior leadership, strategic planning committees, programme managers and technical employees. Senior leadership affects the state of Florida through decision making that impacts the provision of services and policies that have a direct effect on residents. The State of Florida affects the senior leadership through the delivery of frameworks that guide the execution of services. Guidance is required from this stakeholder based on expertise and experience while support is expected from residents to enable them to execute functions efficiently.
Strategic planning committees are in charge of states plans on healthcare and decision making regarding special projects on health. Health projects required for the state residents affect the agendas to be undertaken by the committee. Provision of concrete and good health care plans from such committees are needed while committee members expect provision of ideas from the various stakeholders on the improvement of health care. The committee member is critical and acts as a strategic coordinator committee member in the strategic planning process.
Programme managers are directly involved in the implementation of projects in the state. State residents assist programme managers in the efficient delivery of projects. Programme managers are required to provide an effective strategy through which programmes will be fully implemented while coordination and assistance are needed from stakeholders in the execution phase. The stakeholder is a participant in the process of strategic planning. Technical employees provide technical expertise in the provision of health services to the state e.g. medical practitioners according to Kamalesh and Subramanian (1998). Residents directly affect the stakeholders as they are the clientele. Expertise services are required from this stakeholders while cooperation is needed from the residents to assist in efficient service delivery. Technical employees are participants in the process of strategic planning.
External stakeholders to the state include Disability Rights Florida, Children Medical Services, public and Agency for Health Care Administration as stated by ("HSAG", 2016). Disability Rights Florida, a non-profit organisation, affects residents through the provision of advocacy and safety services to the physically challenged and the residents provide support service through donations to the agency to assist in executing mandates. Services provided by the stakeholder are essential in taking care of the physically challenged. Support from residents in programmes undertaken is what is needed to assist stakeholders. The non-profit organisation is a strategic plan member in the strategic planning process.
Children Medical Services (CMS) is a support service that deals with service delivery to children in the state and works in conjunction with the health department of Florida to provide services to children. Residents act as clientele in providing critical information that affects children in the area. CMS are required to provide health services that affect children while residents are expected to report any cases that affect children. CMS is a strategic planning coordinating member in the strategic planning process especially on matters regarding children.
The public in the state of Florida is involved in the provision of the necessary workforce for the health department while they are expectant of the provision of health services by the health department. Public are expected to provide cooperation and general ideas to health services while the public expects delivery of health services. The public is a participant in the process of strategic planning. Agency for Health Care Administration is mandated in the oversight of the medical profession and affects quality assurance while the state is expected to report any cases of unprofessional conduct or lack of quality as stated by ("HSAG", 2016). Quality assurance and professionalism are supposed to be maintained by the stakeholder while stakeholders expect constant feedback on the level of professionalism expected. The stakeholder is a strategic planning coordinating committee member.
