I am taking Business management as my major since I have a passion for business. I like bringing new ideas and restoring sanity in the management of businesses. The collapse of many businesses is as a result of poor management, and I have a passion for helping businesses thrive no matter the stumbling blocks. As a result, I find the knowledge on the application of religious dialogue very useful in my intended career. Firstly, in my intended career I will not avoid meeting with different people who subscribe to different religions, and they will need my services without any show of partiality. Secondly religious faiths teach a number of values that are very helpful not only in my career, but also in life. Values such as honesty, trustworthiness and diligence, are taught in various religious faiths. If human beings subscribed to these teachings than the world would surely be a better place (Foto Biografia, 2013). The four approaches of religious dialogue are very helpful and resourceful. As a result, this paper reviews at each of them showing how each can be applied.
The first approach is the dialogue of life. This focusses on the idea of human beings living in a neighborly and open spirit where they freely share in their sorrows and joy, preoccupations as well as human problems. This dialogue helps create an environment where people are free and open with each other and as a result, genuine love and honesty would prevail. As a business manager, hopefully, I will encourage this spirit in whichever business I will be working in so that all the workers can be free with each other. As an aspiring manager I have known the secret of production that free workers are more productive than “slaves”. I will also ensure that the junior workers are free with their seniors so that no one will be intimidated and consequently, the workers will provide their best. The spirit of the neighborhood among workers will cause them to love their job and want the best for it by being productive. This will lead to the success of the business (Foto Biografia, 2013).
Second is the dialogue of action where other religions and Christians join hands in liberation and development of people. This dialogue will be very helpful in exhorting workers in my firm to put behind their religious differences and work together towards the achievement of a common goal. This dialogue provides that other religions can work together with Christians towards the achievement of such a common goal where in this case the goal is liberation and development of people. It will also serve to promote cohesion and bring sanity in the firm by showing that a Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist, etc. working together irrespective of their religious limitations can achieve greater results than each working on their own. Skills learnt from this dialogue will be very helpful in creating such mentality among my workers that will also lead to increased productivity.
The third approach is the dialogue of theological exchange in which specialists strive to deepen their knowledge of their religious heritages as well as cultivating the ability to appreciate other people’s faiths. Knowledge gained from this dialogue will be very helpful in creating an environment where workers freely exchange their views and opinions not only on their religious beliefs, but also in handling a problem. The productivity of some firms today lags as a result of some resourceful people in the firm holding their silence on a matter they can handle best simply because they are not vocal are never given a chance to express their views on a particular issue affecting the firm. This could be because they suffer from inferiority complex where they feel as if they are being looked down upon due to the faith they profess (Foto Biografia, 2013). I will be able to fight this by creating forums where people with different faiths will freely interact so that each faith can understand the other and keep respect between them. This will help steer the firm forward towards success.
Lastly, the dialogue of religious experience encourages people who subscribe to any religion edify each other through prayers and meditation. I will apply this knowledge in my firm where I will ensure that it is nonpartisan to any religion and, therefore, accommodates all and sundry. I will also create an environment that allows workers who subscribe to a given faith to fellowship together and encourage one another in the journey of their faith. As a leader, I will ensure that I am not biased to any faith while extending such benefits as promotions, gifts and partnerships. This is to ensure that each worker receives equal treatment and is not discriminated upon.
In conclusion, I would wish to learn more about entrepreneurship as seen by different faiths in the world since I am passionate of it. This will help me acquire principles that will guide me and also help me suffice entrepreneurial needs of each faith. At this juncture, I needless say that the application of interreligious dialogue is extremely helpful especially for a person who needs to succeed in such a career as the one I intend to pursue.
