The primary goal of the following essay is to defend the position that it is important to provide unlimited access to the mass media to a terrorism scene and to guarantee removal of all censorship. Unfortunately, one of the most popular topics described in the media today is terrorism. One of the main reasons why journalists should have the unrestricted access to an incident scene is the democracy. Due to the fact that we are living in the democratic society, it is supposed that journalists and other mass media professionals are able to collect the information needed, in order to fully inform society about the incident. If the access is limited and restricted for the journalist, it is contradictory to the human rights. In my opinion, people have a right to be informed about all the features of the terrorism scene. Clearly, a journalist should follow the ethical code; however, the information should not be restricted to them. Additionally, due to the reasons that Americans are living in the democratic society; thus, the information should not be withheld and limited. Moreover, if a person wants to join a terroristic attack, restricted access to the terrorism scene would not prevent from doing so. It is clear that some information should be silenced from the public access because of the national security reasons; however, if journalists have an unlimited access to a terrorism scene then the society would be more aware of what is happening worldwide. People should have the opportunity to fully understand the current situation because it is a matter of their security and rights. In conclusion, restricted access to the media to a terrorism scene is contradictory to the government, which is based on the democratic principles.
