Illegal Immigration.
Illegal immigrants have increased in the country over the past few years. Some of the pros of illegal immigrants are that they boost the economy through the provision of cheap labor as they are working hard for their families back home. They are willing to take all kinds of work especially if they are undocumented. Immigrants take up duties that average Americans are not prepared to perform. This aids in the distribution of goods and services. Illegal immigrants pay taxes especially if they work in restaurants and automobile shops. They improve biodiversity and enhance cultures.
The disadvantages of illegal immigrants are that they are a strain on resources especially infrastructure. The threat of crime and terrorism is increased with illegal immigrants in the country. They also cause dilution of jobs for ordinary Americans as they provide cheap labor. Additionally, they increase government costs through border patrols and deportation and influence medical expenditure by the government.
Reduction on illegal immigration.
There should be more government efforts to curtail illegal immigration into the country. This can be achieved through stringent laws on illegal immigrants to curb their influx into the country. An increase in border patrols will aid in the reduction of illegal immigrants through the borders.
Opinion on Trump’s vision on the wall
In my opinion, I am against the construction of the border wall by President Donald Trump. The wall will strain social ties with the general Hispanic community that may lead to tension. Additionally, the cost of the fence is too expensive, and the reluctance of the Mexican government to pay for the wall may result in the consumption of taxpayer's funds. The funds should be used in other economic activities.
The possible roles of the federal and state government if the wall is built.
The federal government would be expected to file lawsuits against private landowners for the wall to be constructed. Additionally, the federal government would be expected to provide funding for the construction. The federal government is projected to deal with the bureaucratic, environmental and court hurdles that may arise from the development.
Type of Federalism suggested in dealing with the immigration issue.
Creative federalism can aid the situation on immigration as the federal government can check on the needs of the states and help them on matters of immigration. Federally determined objectives can be dealt with efficiently and they can be implemented at state level through creative applications.
