The lyrical content of music is its most fundamental part which has deteriorated substantially in the recent years. Musicians of the day rely on their visual showcase more than the message they try to relay to their audience. Social vices are promoted in almost all the present day music like swear words, alcohol abuse and offensive slang. All genres of songs advocate for the audience to participate in immoral and violent acts that are highly praised. The conversations regarding this issue will not help the situation if the concerned stakeholders do no action.
Music creation is dependent on the demand that it gets which is pretty high today. Most youths are increasingly listening to music that promotes substance abuse and sexual degradation. The internet is globally accessible, and the ratio of individuals who use sites such as YouTube and Spotify can quickly quench their music thirst. If you mix accessibility and the availability of offensive music, you create a movement of dangerous behavior by the young generation. The emerging trends of sharing music via the social media platforms also adds to the growing web of dispersion. Walking the talk is the only thing that will help the music industry since the agencies responsible for instilling public discipline will be more vigilant of musicians breaching the moral codes.
The increasing trend of family strife also contributes to the growing vices groomed by the bad musical content available today. The young people are more attracted to sexually perverse music because of the experiences in the family. Without a sound ethical foundation that comes from the homes, the music effortlessly lures the youth. However, a strong background that is knowledgeable enough on the need for having more virtues can counter the musical force that aims at destruction. More emphasis on the building blocks of the young people should be given more priority as it will address the issue from the underlying factors.
In conclusion, the future looks dull regarding the depth of immoral musical content among the young people. The lessons of such music will be deeply rooted in the community of firsthand measures are not taken. The internet cannot be stopped encroaching the remotest of regions in the world hence these values will be globally noticed if counter action is not done to alleviate the problem.
