The way people use technology in the past is changing, and we are presenting a new way of operating things. Nevertheless, the progress is not always for the better. Some changes essentially retreat our control on the world around us, society, and reality while others are of advance assistance. The young generation of the nowadays world depends on the world of technology compared to the lives of people 40 years ago. At times we use the technology a learning tool, but more often for personal enjoyment or entertainment. While screen time and dependence on technology increase, time for living communication diminishes.

Technologies are always here for us to make our life easier and simpler. The laziness turns out to be the engine of the progress. Even such a little thing as a TV remote control prevents us nowadays from the extra movement. My grandmother had to agree with my grandfather what TV program they would watch in the evenings. Sometimes it ended in some disagreements and quarrels. Nevertheless that meant live communication between people. Finally, they sat together on a sofa and watched one film. Today it is not so troublesome. We all have our own screen and do not have to fight. Moreover, we have nearly unlimited choices of films and whatever to watch and do not depend upon TV program composed for us by someone. The only objection is that we sit with our own screens in separate rooms, and this means separation from our dearest people. The technologies make those who are far away closer and more available, but sometimes make those who are near more distancing. Certainly, it is difficult to overestimate communication through the Skype. Tears came down my grandmother’s face when she saw her sister on the other part of the world. She used to talk to her over the phone and see only photos for years.
Our generation cannot imagine their selves without cell phones. Although phones surely were existent when my grandma was my age, people still were not so much dependable upon them. The question ‘Where are you?’ sounded ridiculous when you called a friend on stationary phone. Although my grandmother is very smart, nowadays technical improvements are the inflexible tasks for her to accomplish. Elementary thing for me like saving a number in the phone might be a challenge. She still has her old shabby notebook with a list of phone numbers from the immemorial times. Nevertheless, it was her turn to jubilate when I lost my cell phone and had to renew the entire list. Technology helps people communicate and to share ideas and certain information for the best always.
The advancement in the evolution of technology has impacts on all phases of our lives. As a result, nowadays people become more and more dependable on the technology in nearly everything they do. On the one hand, we are free to learn more about anything we like. On the other hand, we substitute the live experiences by virtual one. The apparent fact is that young people can be educated better with multiple means of technology, can learn faster because technology builds up with them. Nevertheless all opportunities do not make them smarter. When my grandmother used to write her homework at school, the research paper at college or a simple letter, she had to use her brain for the correct spelling. Our generation can put all responsibility on the computer intellect.
Technology has come into our life, and we cannot deny the entire advantages of its use. We are freer at getting information than our previous generation. At the same time, we become more and more dependable upon using different gadgets. So we should use technologies wisely, in a proper way, and remember to use our own intellect as well.
