“Vertigo” is a film that has not been highly praised by critics, and that did not have much success at the cinemas, but is now widely regarded as a masterpiece of the genre. The film was shot in 1958 in the United States, the director - Alfred Hitchcock (Hitchcock).
Personally, I think that the main theme of the film is that our ideals, dreams are often not so ideal, not what we imagined them.
The film's protagonist - a former policeman John Ferguson. He suffered from guilt complex because of an accident at work, he also decided to withdraw completely from the police profession. However, he decided to help his old friend and promised to follow his wife.
During chasing the Madeleine, Ferguson rescued a girl from drowning, he finally felt that he someone needed him and felt responsible for the girl.
Ferguson, who suffers from guilt complex, and who did not meet his soul mate, left behind his profession, took the case at the request of his old friend unwillingly, during which he met the mysterious Madeleine, a mysterious and beautiful woman , and he finally felt he was responsible for her. Blond hair, seductive voice, gait and delightful mystery of what is happening around the Madeleine, in which he is involved - all this created in his mind the ideal image of the fragile and not durable dream, which he eventually lost but it was ideal.
This theme forms the main second part of the film. The main idea of the film - are our ideals, that set the level of the life and because of which our phobia appear. And these phobias we overcome on the way to our ideals. But if we break the perfect image at the end, when we finally get it, will depend on the result that it represents. But in any case, with this achievement we can eliminate our phobias.
