In the video " Tips for A Happier Life (3): "Re-wiring Your Brain for Happiness", clinical psychologist Bill Conklin focuses on the concept of neuro-plasticity, which means that our brain grows and undergoes changes throughout an individual's whole life. Consequently, he states that any individual can 'train' his/her brain to be happier by specific thoughts at any time. I strongly agree the fundamental idea presented by Bill Conklin as I believe that positive mindset, in actual fact, is the key element of a happier life.
Obviously, if a person is constantly caught in negative thinking and focuses only on the downsides of events and occurrences in life, then this person initially re-wires his/her brain toward negativity. Consequently, a person with a negative mindset is simply not able to focus on positive aspects of life as he takes a gloomy view of everything. On the contrary, an individual with a positive mindset tends to look at what is good in life. I share an idea that focusing on simple and ordinary positive things that the majority of people fail to notice or be grateful for, such as health, physical abilities, loving family and friends, can help an individual re-wire his/her brain for happiness and live it to the fullest. In other words, if an individual wants to live up to the hilt and feel happier in general, he/she should focus on what he/she can do rather than on what he/she cannot do in order to enjoy the taste of inner harmony and self-satisfaction. Therefore, I agree with the idea that a person has to be resolute and goal-oriented to create a positive mental attitude and live a happy life regardless of temporary failures and misfortunes.
