Different data elements are significant informatics components that are extremely necessary for the flow of information through the structure of the healthcare organization. It is on this basis that the following article will discuss three data elements that one is likely to choose from in the analysis of care in a health care entity. The first element that would be chosen would be a data warehouse. Basically, having a data warehouse is a crucial element in light of the several initiatives driven by data particularly in the healthcare sector. With the data element, the healthcare system will be capable of storing, integrating and also interpreting different sources of data. This enormously permits the system of healthcare to make an assessment of the cons, as well as, the pros of the strategic opportunities.
The second data element is the patient registry that has been taken up by several clinics. A patient registry is basically a system which is organized and utilizes uniform ways of collecting clinical data thus allowing the examination of various health conditions. Such registries in the healthcare sector have immensely assisted in keeping track of those patients having chronic conditions such as diabetes. This is critical because it allows the screening, as well as, following up on such patients who have not yet received the latter prescriptions. With this data element in place, the managers in healthcare facilities can reach-out to such persons and consequently track their patients over an extended period. (Hegwer, 2015)
The last element of data is the call center and IT networks in hospitals. Such call centers have an immense propensity of assisting the hospitals boost the patients’ satisfactory levels and also increasing the revenues of the healthcare center. This is basically in assistance with the IT networks that promotes the flow of information within and outside the facility. It assists in connecting the patients to the facility. In conclusion, the above article has presented a discussion on three healthcare elements in regards to big data.
