I agree with your statement that alcohol intoxication and the use of mobile phones while on the road are among the most common causes of motor vehicle accidents. Car accidents can be avoided with strict implementation of laws and greater fines. In 2013, over 3000 individuals died due to distracted driving (Bartlett, 2015). Hence, whenever necessary, drivers have to pull over and do their phone call/text businesses or they hang up for a while and focus on the road. In various states now, driving with a hand-held phone is considered illegal. As for drunk driving, in 2012 alone, over 10,000 people lost their lives because of alcohol intoxication. When there is too high amount of alcohol in the bloodstream, this can slow down the person’s response time and impair one’s judgment (Bartlett, 2015). Over speeding and too narrow roads can also cause motor vehicle accidents.

I agree with what you said about air toxics particularly the different ways on how to combat or minimize them. Air toxics are man-made. Hence, it is only men who can solve such problem. I would like to add that air toxics are really serious pollutants. They can cause deleterious impact on people’s health. Exposure to air toxics at sufficient durations and concentration can increase the chance of experiencing serious conditions such as cancer (EPA, 2016). These adverse health impacts can damage the neurological system, immune system, respiratory, reproductive, and developmental system. Air toxics such as mercury deposits onto waters and soils and these are ingested by plants and animals and the rest of the food chains are also affected (EPA, 2016). Even animals themselves may experience the ill effects of air toxics. Aside from minimizing activities that produce air toxics, I believe the government must also impose stricter rules and fines to those who continue to cause harm to the environment.
