Introduction The US government has adopted a unique and distinctive designs in building its embassies in various countries whereby, it ensures security get promoted (McDonnell). Prominent and experienced architects are mostly consulted and hired when it comes to such issues. The buildings stand in an isolated area and surrounded by a big compound that helps security personnel to carryout surveillance activities. Hence, a visual manifesto would be appropriate to take into consideration all factors that matter in designing of these buildings now and in the future (Hunting). A number of rules of design must be followed to ensure that the final design meet all the expected specifications, and such rules include Archigram and super studio. However, the embassy design should be rethought in order to put up with changes that are happening globally. Firstly, the state of technology keeps on changing due to the numerous numbers of inventions and innovations (Canada.usembassy.gov). Technology keeps on changing, therefore, the architects must be creative and relevant to the present and future designs. For the designs, to remain relevant, the US government keeps on improving the architecture of building. Such modifications has made the embassies to main their original design but enhance their elegance. Secondly, different countries in the world where US embassy located have different environmental factors and issues. For instance, a country like India is hit by hails and storms periodically. Hence, any structure set up in such a country must consider such factor that may affect the building’s strength. Additionally, some countries experience earthquakes and hot climate, therefore, it's important to incorporate all this factors when coming up with a particular design that will establish in a particular country (Hunting). The embassy can still provoke the host country through communication in several ways. One of them can be through incorporating their culture in their design. For instance, China has a unique way of designing their buildings (Nytimes.com). Their architecture is unique, and most of the designs adopted from them. In many countries, US erects a statue of a famous United States leader but to foster good relationship, the embassy might decide to include part of the host country’s arts and exhibitions in their designs. It’s imperative as the host country feels appreciated and recognized by this world’s largest economy.
Architectural behaviors are responsive to existing circumstances in different ways. Latest technology takes the better part of it followed by natural factors like changes in weather and generally the climate (Nytimes.com). Another emerging issue in the world today is the state of security in different regions of the world because of the establishment of different terror groups in different countries that pose a significant threat. Hence, the designs must ensure the safety of the occupants in case of any emergency. Prototype can be an appropriate model in some cases. The embassy should engage the local community by requesting them to give their ideas on the kind of models that they wish to establish in their locality (Ricciotti). Additionally, architects have the freedom to take advantage of the current state of technology. Finally, they must be creative to ensure uniqueness of their designs.
In conclusion, the architecture of US embassies has existed for many years and different factors have led architects to revolutionize its design. Technology has enhanced the design, making it more attractive. The level of insecurity in the world has made the embassy to be built in ample space to allow free surveillance services.
