According to the words of Aristotle, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet” (Aristotle), and as we know the first bitter roots of our education are usually tasted in high school.
A high school diploma is the evidence that a person has gone through a vital step of his or her life. Having a high school diploma means that a person was working on various topics during many years to become a broad-minded and educated individual and a worthy member of the society. Graduating from high school also means that along with acquiring the general knowledge of all the important subjects, the person has gone through the “social school” – the most important subject teaching us how to deal with different people. And even though such social interaction may not always be positive, this experience is priceless and often teaches people how to deal with society.
A person without a high school diploma is most likely to be disrespected by society and inevitably viewed as a misfit who is lacking something that has to be inherent to everyone without any exception. Also, it goes without saying that without a high school diploma, the road to further education, and as a result – to a successful career – is closed.
So, a high school diploma nowadays is a must for everyone willing to become an integral part of society, whose hopes are centered around the ones possessing great knowledge and willing to change the world for the better.
