There exists an ever increasing interest on the American participation on politics. The interest is mainly due to insistence on youth civic engagement. The youth in the public needs to be engaged regularly not only to matters regarding technology but also on issues relating to politics. In the U.S there are many not for profit organizations which advocate for the engagement of youth in issues relating to politics through offering civic education (Watts and Omar 70).
These organizations get the foundation for their argument from philosophies of liberation as well as from developmental psychology. They also make use of available literature on youth engagement. This engagement came from Positive youth development as well as Community youth development codes. Social justice is also involved thereby making use of liberation psychology.
The existing literature on youth civic engagement mainly focuses on advocating for social and political institutions and not focusing on the establishment of social justice systems. However, there exists value in the civic engagement literature available. There needs to be an equality and relevance on how both the youths from black and the marginalized groups are treated and live (Watts and Omar 75).
Youth social-political development is adhered to by all stakeholders and research is done to get information which enables civic youth engagement. The main issue to be addressed is the corporation between social analysis as well as societal involvement. This involvement incorporates a wide range of social work and political involvements. Adultism is the range of challenges which adults encounter while doing a task together with the young people. Therefore, there is a need for civic education on the need and the manner in which to engage the youths in a wide range of issues including politics (Watts and Omar 80).
