The lifestyle of the current generation varies drastically every day and as a result people are getting ill at a very early stage of their life. This has proven to be a lead in the progress of medicine and technology to increase the lifespan of human being. The high bandwidth wireless services and small mobile devices have introduced the new mobile healthcare (mHealth) services. The smartphone can be used as a platform for eHealth. For the obese people and overweight children the DiaTrace-technology converts a smart phone to a mobile assistant for physical activity and analyzes the correct amount of food to be consumed.
Participatory Design (PD) is most relevant in eHealth than the User Centered Design as it allows the sick people to speak of their illness. However, PD may not find much support in the Emerging Future Internet Technology (FIT) in which hundreds of eHealth applications and services are deployed using cloud computing or virtualization and it proves to be cost-effective, and energy efficient to the medical centers. To support eHealth in future internet the interruption and changes are needed and those will be provided by the healthcare providers, the financiers, and the patients. The quality of the services delivered by the eHealth services is critical, and these services must support the transmission of data that monitors the health parameters like blood rate, ecg, blood pressure and any data that can be sensed. The mode of transmission of such data must be decided by the kind of Quality of Service (QoS) level in the network.
The motive of the future internet for eHealth is to institutionalize quality research on computing and communications systems that are positioned in the healthcare territory and deliver proven eHealth services to the patients, the volunteers and the professionals in the anywhere-anytime-anyhow fashion. The Quality of Experience (QoE) has been developed to deal with receiving quality service to their end users.
