Cruising has been attracting a more and more generations, offering a wide variety of services in order to meet all of the client’s expectations. Cruise companies have diversified the set of cruise themes, so even homosexual couples or solo cruisers can find something for themselves. Also it is worth mentioning that the leading players on the market have launched a big choice of new cruise destinations, such as Australia, China and Indonesia, which will also lead to the popularity growth of cruising.
At this point cruise industry is on its peak, and in order to stay at that point for a while, the leading companies will be trying to show themselves as being progressive innovators. Jim Berra, chief marketing officer at Carnival Cruise Lines and the head of CLIA's marketing committee has highlighted several trends in cruising including the development of internet connection onboard, and new ways of onboard communication among the passengers. (Stieghorst, 2013)
Big cruise companies will try to find ways to attract more new customers by inviting popular pop stars on board, organizing different meetings with the leading writers, economists and actors. In the future the cruise themes will be increasing noticeably, however there is a chance that all of them will become similar and boring. That is why in order to keep the cruise ship industry growing companies need to focus more on the quality of the service they provide, such as quality of food and accommodation. This factor is very important, considering the fact that the industry has been expanding and the new customers are mostly attracted to the quality perfection.
Considering all of the aforementioned factors, one can make a conclusion that the cruise industry will remain popular for the next decade at least, as they have just started to expand geographically. If the industry succeeds in creating a product for non-American customer and finds a way to blend in with remote and exotic cultures - it has a bright and prosperous future.
