Museum and gallery events are always an exciting, interesting and educating experience which can provide me with essential knowledge and information about new artists, styles, and ways to express oneself. This time I had a chance to witness an ArtHop exhibition where plenty of talented and great artists provided the audience with great paintings and works of art ("Fresno Arts Council"). It should be noted that it was quite difficult to pick one and decide which should be analyzed and viewed, as most of them had something unique, however, among many great artworks I found one which was the most influential and interesting from my point of view. Claudia Fletcher’s “Heading Home” represented an incredibly detailed and emotional picture, in which the author successfully achieved the feeling of returning home after a long work day ("Artist Call: Art In Fresno"). In this picture, one can see a shepherd on a horse, and a herd of cows, heading toward home. With the help of brilliant usage of light, the author provided the audience with the feeling of tiredness and satisfaction after a workday. In my opinion, author’s brush strokes made it possible to become a part of a picture, feeling of warm sun, hearing swinging of spikelet, and seeing a marvelous sunset. Due to the fact that the author depicted both animals and a human, it is possible to evaluate mastery of Claudia Fletcher, and her ability to precisely depict all muscles and movements of living creature.
Accordingly, the conclusion that can be drawn from the above is the fact that ArtHop event provided me with great experience and allowed me to witness marvelous artworks of many talented artists. In particular, Claudia Fletcher’s “Heading Home” made a big impact on me, conveying warm emotions and feelings.
