Gastric Banding Device Vs Normal function of the Stomach
A gastric band device is also known as the lap band device. It is being operated on the top portion of the stomach. Gastric band can easily be mounting in the patient’s stomach by surgery known as bariatric surgery. It is used to check the patient’s body mass index. The body mass index of the patients is 35 to 40. It will improve the weight loss, diabetics, hypertension, etc. There are two types of gastric band device; they are lap band device system. This device comes with different size and it the improved version of this device. Another device is called Realized band device; this realized band gets approved in 2007. The surgical insertion is often returned as a lap band procedure; a camera is being send to the stomach so it will take the picture of the stomach. This picture is used to analyze the function and installation of the device function. By this surgery, the patients feel comfortable, and they can do other activities.
This device is used to lose an excess amount of weight. Once it is placed among the stomach in the fixed location on the skin of the abdomen, you will fell changes from the normal condition. It will allow the surgeon to reduce the stomach size by adding or subtracting the water level. If you are adding more saline, it will reduce the size of the stomach. We can reduce the size of the stomach from the normal condition using the gastric banding device. The diameter of the gastric banding device re changed based on their individual needs. A pregnant can expand their band for growing fetus. If the patients with the tightened gastric band will not go to experience changes in the weight. The patients will experience weight loss from the normal conditions. It is one of the main features of the gastric banding device. The patients will feel normal by this device.
Gastric Banding in ethical Issue
The food and drug administration in US is revised the technology of reducing the body mass index using the gastric banding device. It is the obesity related health problems from 35 to 30 Km/M2. The press criticized this technology, and they raised the concern about the role of lap band device manufactures. It is the FDA lower BMI device threshold, and it takes in to profit with the new guidelines. It is being expressed with the tool of worries on the stipulated BMI threshold device. The FDA is focused on the issue of safety and quality of the data. Reference to medical risk and benefits will not go to resolve all of the data. It can only accept to the patient demand on these circumstances.
The approval and gastric band is depending on the patient’s health status. This guidance is always realized to determine good eligibility criteria. The gastric banding comes with some minor complications and in the patients. By evaluating FDA’s request on this device, one must pay attention to the complex ethical questions. Long term data confirm group. We have to ensure the current and future debates. The gastric surgeons are one of the important ethical considerations. It is used to map some of the ethical terrains. The gastric banding finds the appropriate policy and FDA would ideally involve a wider range of the state.
Many ethical issues get raised in the gastric banding device because of the safety to the patients. Many patients are suffering from stomach problems with the gastric banding device. This device is used in many ways and many applications too. It is necessary of the hospitals to ensure the safety of the public on this device.
Advantage and Disadvantage of using Gastric Banding
It will perform the weight reduction operation, specifically in Europe Union. There are some rare changes of patient’s death from this operations. We can reoperation and take the device out from the body. The band can be adjusted to increase or decrease the weight loss. The loss of weight averages to 40 to 60% of the adverse weight. There is no need for hospital to stay. It can improve the health problems of the patients. Lab band system is covered with the insurance policy.
It also has certain disadvantages; it will give pressure on the patients and the surgeon during the surgery. The weight loss dependent on frequently follow up. one to two percent requires the provisional surgery. The device may require repair with the minor operations. The weight loss was not assured for the patients.
Conclusion
The gastric device is awonderful device. It can easily reduce the patient’s weight by the small minor surgery. The surgery is of low cost. The patients will feel the large impact on the weight loss with this surgery. This device can be re operated and removed from the stomach. The stomach will not go to get problem from the installation of this device. It can improve with the minor revisions and some ethical issues are arising with this technology.
