Men and women are physically and biologically different in very many ways. These differences in attributes have traditionally acted as a basis for lead to the allocation of roles and responsibility. While the men are viewed as bread winners and sole providers for their families, women are presented as child bearers and home makers. In the contemporary world, however, this does not seem to be the case. Women have taken a more aggressive role in the political, economic and social dimensions of life that were previously associated with their male counterparts. In reality, the notion that most non verbal forms of communication such as billboard ads attempt to present of women as child bearers and home makers and men as bread winners and sole providers of their families is not accurate.
Modern day women have nearly succeeded in making a complete overhaul of the traditional mentality that women should stay at home and be submissive to their husbands. The harshness of the current economic and financial times has imposed a heavy burden on the men in meeting the needs of their families. In some cases, the men have proven to be utterly helpless in providing for their families. Therefore, it is no longer surprising to observe that there are very many female-headed households in the society. The women have turned out to be the sole providers and they at the same time take care of the needs of their children.
In conclusion, the non verbal forms of communication can sometimes depict a situation that is not realistic in the contemporary world. In this case, the post portraying women as child bearers and home makers whereas the men are the sole providers of their families is not a true depiction of the actual situation. The women in the modern world are more emancipated and take up more roles outside their homes.
