The 60 year old male patient was the subject of this Genitourinary Clinical Case. The patient sought medical attention after experiencing severe discomfort from experiencing noctoria and slow urinary stream. Patient also becomes concern when his symptoms became worst from almost two years of enduring similar yet less severe symptoms.
- As verbalized, patient reports that he had been experiencing the similar physical symptoms for past two years. However, the symptoms were less severe as this attack.
- Patient had to wait until the symptoms becomes too unbearable before he sought medical attention.
- This behavior needs to be changed. Thus, as part of the nursing intervention, the attending nurse should conduct efforts geared towards NIC 4360 or Behavior Modification.
- Behavior modification is initiated when patient is practicing questionable health practices which could compromise their health and wellness. In the case of this 60 year old male patient, the behavior that needs modification is on how the patient delays seeking medical attention at the onset of the symptoms.
- Another issue of the patient refers to during the interview is the discomfort brought by him encountering nocturia which interferes with his daily activities.
- Another Nursing intervention forwarded in this report is the need to NIC 0570 Urinary Bladder Training. These addresses the client’s concern of frequent urination. Urinary Bladder Training tries to concern how can develop a healthy pattern of voiding to facilitate for the complete of many of the patient’s task.
