Global Health Organizations play a crucial role in shaping economies and for eradicating and fending off health challenges. One of the prime global health organizations is the World Health Organization (WHO). This special agency was initiated by the United Nations and their primary aim is to facilitate and maintain public health across the globe. It was initiated on the 7th of April in the year 1948 and is headquartered in Geneva in Switzerland. This Health body consists of 193 member states, which includes 192 members from the United Nations, excluding Niue and Cook Islands. WHO has 6 regional offices, each with an independent Regional director who enjoys considerable autonomy.
HealthRight International is yet another organization which was established in the year 1990 by Dr. Jonathan Mann. Prior to 2009, HealthRight International was referred to as “Doctors of the World USA”. The primary purpose of this organization is to provide health care benefits for communities that have been deprived of proper health care facilities. They primarily focus on the health issues like HIV/AIDS, women welfare programs and assistance for orphans.
Another crucial global health organization is called “PATH”. PATH was founded in the 1970s by 3 researchers called Gordon Perkin, Rich Mahoney and Gordon Duncan with the aim to provide superior as well as modern forms of preventing pregnancy. They currently have lasting presences spanning across seventy countries. Their internal structure consists of a president as well as a CEO followed by global and the country programs managers, who are responsible for the deliberation of their activities in the countries in which they operate.
