The information I found shows the global marketplace as it related to economic inequalities between highly developed countries and those developing ones. Honestly, I was not surprised with any of the information I have discovered. I expected the GDPs of Japan and the Unites States to be larger than those of the underdeveloped countries. The export products of the developed countries are more highly developed than the three countries. For example Japan exports one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced motor products while the US has the second-largest industrial output in the world. What I took note of were the independence dates of each nation. Japan and United states were among the earliest countries to gain independence. It was very evident that along with independence come many socio-economic changes. The other three countries recently became independent and are currently thriving with their economy.
The clothes that we wear from many clothing brands have their products manufactured in developing, impoverished nations of the world. A lot of big-name clothing retailers choose to outsource their products in countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. The working conditions are dismal. The workers getting underpaid with no health benefits, the factories are shoddily constructed and child labor common conditions in these countries. This shows that the global marketplace is made up of big-named brands of developed countries exploiting the human labor and resources of underdeveloped countries.
