Management Plan
Introduction
The study caters to the management plan of classroom and addresses kindergarten grade level. The classroom management plan refers to the arrangement done by the teachers to organize a time, space and materials for students. The classroom arrangements are conducted so that the student learning and instructions can take place in an effective manner. The further study also demonstrates the ability to create better and conducive learning process for the students (Marshall, 2008). The plan also establishes the high expectations for student learning and behavior and further study concentrates on various aspects of classroom management.
The goal of the plan has to be addressed for understanding the main purpose of the study and also, concentrate on better management plan. The grade level addressed in this study will be kindergarten level. The evolving classroom management plan will be the main purpose of this study and further requirements for the implementation of classroom management. The students are different in cultural, social and economical aspects and, therefore, the approach of managing the class also varies according to the students and classroom (Crosser, 2011). The approach should ensure the response to diverse intellectual nature of students and acknowledging the people with formulation of minds, recognizes the abilities and challenges of students within the classroom. The approach adopted for classroom management plan will be learner centered classroom approach so as to produce better critical thinker and develop the quality of multi-tasking and enjoying the experiences of learning process within the students (Malone, 2010). The classroom will be an entertaining place for students to learn and participate in the activities of the classroom. In this type of environment, the students get engaged in stimulating the lessons that demand the attention and better learning process within the classrooms.
Classroom Rules and expectations
The classroom rules and expectations have to exist for proper classroom management, and the classroom will be more managed with a set of rules for students. The classroom rules also include a friendly touch and encouragement among the students in the classroom. The affection among the students is very important as it keep a healthy environment for students and classroom. Another rule of the classroom is that the students should listen to the teacher in every manner as it is a functional role of the students. The utilization of an inside voice is a helpful rule but speaking loud is mandatory in the language based activities within the classroom (Drucker, 2005). The last rule is to walk while inside, and this rule apply to the preferences of children and it seems to encompass the feeling of compassion and respect within the classroom. The success of classroom management can only be achieved when the environment is friendly, and the children respect teachers in a considerable manner.
Role of students in the classroom
The students have an important role in the classroom, and it need to be understood before development of effective classroom management plan and teacher need to be aware of developmental; characteristics that define the students of classroom. The tendencies and capabilities of students need to be understood for further implementation of classroom management plan (Church, 2005). The teachers need to be aware of students as individuals and understanding the students will create a better personality within the classroom and also, inspire a sense of belonging in the classroom. The learning of students’ will ultimately increase within the environment. After arrival of students in the classroom, the students respect the classroom and everything in the overall environment of the classroom and also, the knowledge learnt within the classroom.
Role of teacher in the classroom
The role of teacher in the classroom needs to be understood for the better understanding of classroom management plan. The teaching profession brought intelligent control and sensitivity for the appropriateness of individual student within the classroom. The role of teacher is explained as same as an artist because professionalism itself may be inept in a rigid and defined manner. The theory of self reflection, technique may need to be cultivated for the individuals to become an artist, but the personal insight and experience is required to become a teacher (Haney, 2009). The same theory applies to the educator as the theory self reflection are practices and performed by the teachers in the classroom. In the kindergarten grade, the pre-school setting is organized for teachers and the socially constructed knowledge will be considered more of a moderator or provider for students (Denno, 2010). The role of a teacher is considered as caregiver as they provide children with the capacity of understanding the environment and the teacher gives care to children throughout the day and fulfils their responsibility in a considerable manner. The classroom management can also assist the teacher by making learning situations in an abundant and apparent manner.
Implementation plan
The classroom management plan has to be implemented in an analytical manner so as to achieve the proper output for classroom management. The ideas of classroom management plan need to be implemented while deciding the plan and at the time of deciding the management plan, the teachers should also consult their parents, children and outline ideas so as to improve their problematic behaviors as viewed in the classroom (Kauchak, 2007). After consideration of behavior of the child, the management plan should be implemented and the plan should reflect on the role of environment, routine of the classrooms and interaction with the fellow children and teachers within the classroom. There are specialized staffs such as psychologist and therapists in the school system and they assist in the implementation of classroom management plan. The two possible methods to resolve the classroom management problems can be consultation with pertaining to education and development of the child. The behavior of child should be considered for responding to the humanist and cognitive motivators. The reviewing of problematic behaviors is a major concern for reviewing the classroom management plan with the caregivers, educational assistants and school psychologists (Eisner, 2012). The other adults should also be consulted while implementing classroom management plan, and consultation should also include medical history, behavior, intentions for effective implementation of classroom management plan. The children should remain in friendly environment with the main focus of understanding specific behaviors and addressing the efficient behavioral methods for further implementation of classroom management plan.
Visual representation of the physical arrangement
It is important to consider the visual representation of the physical arrangement in the classroom so as to view the comfort level and convenience of children. It is considered as an important factor because of the importance of the physical environment for parents, caregiver, teachers and children in a well manner. The well designed special classroom education and activities of the classroom take place according to the need of students, and it has to be considered for the overall arrangement of the classroom (Greenberg, 2005). The furniture and location facilities need to be considered while instructions of classroom management have to be implemented in a considerable manner. The clarification of physical space enables the students to anticipate the activities held in particular areas and thereby, increases the participation of children and ultimately improves their behavior in the classroom. A visual representation of the physical environment of the classroom is given below for better clarification of the study and proper understanding of the classroom management plan in a physical manner.
Aspects of the NETS-T Standards
The National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) have some set of standards which need to be considered for the purpose of leveraging the utilization of technology. The utilization of K-12 technology enables the students to learn effectively and utilize their learning in a productive manner within the digital society (Crosser, 2011). The teachers can teach outside the classroom with the use of technology, and it will be beneficial for students. The use of internet will also eliminate the additional information provided in text books. The technology is beneficial to all the children and students will be determined to learn because of their technological fun learning and experiences. The students will be determined on the basis of their fun experience and learning within the classroom. The major key performance indicators are as follows:
- Facilitation of creativity and learning of students
- Development of digital-age learning experiences
