Golden Beaches, A Descriptive Essay Sample

A walk around this place is always refreshing. On a lazy Sunday, or during the summer, droves of people are drawn here as iron to a magnet. The sight might not mean much to a lay observer, which makes it more beautiful to the keen observer. This particular beach has always been fascinating to me. It invokes a spiritual feeling, out of this world sensation that carries one from their present into a total sedative state of calmness and meditation. It is hard to pinpoint the factors that make it stand out from the rest of the beaches I have travelled. The mix of qualities on offer in the golden beaches to the northwest of Costa Rica makes it an exceptional beach to visit.
The Costa Rica golden beaches exude a spirituality and a pureness of spirit in them that it is infectious to anyone who visits this place. Partly, it is due to the recent opening up of these beaches that make them retain much of the natural feel to them in comparison to other beaches anywhere in the world. The air around here smells of a tingling mangrove, testament to human inactivity here. The scent invokes a natural feeling, one beyond civilization and progress. It is unchartered like a defiant fortress that refuses to yield to the advances of enemy troops. On a sunny morning, the clear blue waters sparkle in a reflective manner of the mountainous forests in its background. The sunrays peek between the towering trees like little speckles of sand in extension of the expansive beach. The abrupt eruption of foliage beyond the sand baffles as much as it awes; it is like a planned landscape. It is a manifestation of nature’s sense of humor, defiance in its unhindered beauty devoid of any human interference.
It would be a travesty if one fails to experience the sandy beaches while on a visit here; it would pale leaving an occasion before the main event. The coarse sands warmed up by the morning sun feel like masseuse’s oil on a tired back. The warmth amplified by the mild roughness of the sand. It is understandable that you would be doing nothing while on the sand other than doze off. The breeze, if the current conspires to your advantage blows a cool misty air over your body, contrasting the warm sandy feel to an almost perfect match.
The scattered reefs along the shoreline stand like an army against the rare wild waves adding to the reassuring feel of predictability. The mild waves flap rhythmically against the rocky reefs almost in tune with the numerous birds chirping beyond the mangroves. An occasional wave may produce an occasional roar against the reefs spilling over to the beach. A few birds may scamper away, and one might snap back into reality if their meditation was not deep enough by then. Then you would marvel at the amazing display of shells and rare sea creatures that such waves bring. The diversity is stupefying ranging from adorable turtles to oysters. The nights in this beach are always a special occasion. On a starry night, the skies come alive on the ocean surface. The stars reflect beautifully off the ocean surfaces sparkling like tiny crown jewels. The mild waves lift them in rhythm making them appear as rows upon rows of speckled ballet dancers. The signature flap against the reefs is the only constant feature in this beach experience, and it punctuates the rhythm of the stars dances upon the ocean beautifully.
In conclusion, it is an experience that leaves one in awe of nature’s ability to perform an orchestra so deep and diversified one wonder why anyone would want to amend such beautiful choreography.
