Admission Essay for the Management Information System
The world of information system evolves constantly and it needs outstanding graduates from top management and business schools. With the myriad challenges confronting us at a global scale, MIS graduates are needed in integrating their technical knowledge and business prowess in many organizations to resolve difficult situations regarding strategic management, operation, finance, and so on. As such, a Management Information System (MIS) graduate degree will give me the competitive advantage in my career.
So far, my career objectives include becoming an expert and leader in the field of management information system. In particular, I want to learn various information systems concepts, theories, and approaches in understanding and analyzing pressing organizational problems, opportunities, and challenges. Likewise, I would like to understand management principles, techniques, and strategies about information systems design and development. Further, an information systems degree will provide me with knowledge of organizational information systems analysis and continuing improvement. Hence, during the said graduate education, my critical thinking, creative decision-making, and interpersonal and organizational skills will be enhanced, especially about the various contexts of information systems.
I hope to learn during my MIS studies more about leadership integrity and related ethical behavioral concepts, global management and teamwork competencies, innovative growth mindset, inter alia as applied in organizational information systems development. I would like to demonstrate efficiently the proper design and implementation of management information systems. With an excellent MIS graduate prospectus, internationally renowned faculty members, commendable university resources and facilities, and vibrant intellectual community, an MIS degree would definitely have a positive impact on my career as a leader in the field.
Given your university graduate school students’ myriad talents and a variety of expertise that they bring to the student culture, some unique attributes that I would like to contribute to this environment consist of professional and academic integrity. Moreover, I also want to share my relevant business and management experience, research presentation skills, passion and commitment to excel in individual courses, to mention a few. Said general attributes may be unique for me as a person who would like to aspire to be one of the best in MIS.
Furthermore, there was a time when I had to employ my quantitative methods to solve a problem. I underwent the process, as a team leader for a database research project, of thoroughly understanding and demonstrating my technical competence. Our group worked with a large data set using multivariate logistic regression model to have a clear and concise presentation in our data analytics and modeling class. Overall, the end result of our project was an astounding success because of our solid teamwork, knowledge, and dedication to excel completing a project.
Granting without affirming that the current class profile does not align with my academic and/or professional experience, I have the necessary background education, on-the-job training, and work leadership experience to embrace a demanding graduate program. Before I earned my bachelor’s degree, I already have a detailed career path for myself. I have learned to explore constantly my abilities, talents, and proficiencies as a student to be good at in my chosen field. Hence, I always made sure that I exercise adaptability, flexibility, hardwork, perseverance, and foresight to more likely fulfill my dream of becoming an MIS specialist with your kind consideration admitting me to the MIS graduate program.
