The Butte Council of Child Abuse and Prevention (BCCAPC) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1975. The organization is concerned with the welfare of victims of child abuse in Butte County. The organization mainly treats victims of child abuse in the county as well as preventing the occurrence of cases while offering appropriate interventions to mitigate against incidence of child abuse. Butte County forms part of the counties that record highest number of child abuse cases in California. Out of 12.6 children abuse cases reported in California, 8.7 of these cases are from Butte County.
The mission of the council is to eliminate all forms of child abuse through advocacy, education and community collaboration.
