Dear Mr. (Mrs.) XXX,
I am herewith writing this letter to appeal my academic suspension from the School of Nursing. Even though, I regularly attended almost all classes, I failed on my exams in XXX and XXX and was dismissed due to the poor academic performance. I was not surprised, but still very disappointed to hear this news. Thus, I would like to ask you to readmit me to the school and allow me to continue my studies next semester.
My busy schedule at work did not allow me devote enough time to my studies; thus, my results, as well as my overall academic performance suffered. I do not make excuses, but I just would like to explain what lead to such bad consequences. From the very beginning, it was clear that the whole course would require much effort and self-organization, but I assured myself that I could cope with the work load. I went to the library, attended the CAS center and did home tasks, however, my busy work and my confidence that everything is under control distracted me to focus on my studies. Now I understand that I should have paid more attention to the studying process and pull all my efforts to pass the exams. I also realized that communication with professors could have helped a lot with any questions on subject material. I was determined I could deal with all the issues on my own without any help, but I was definitely wrong.
I enjoy studying at the School of Nursing and I really did a lot to get a chance to study here. That is why it would mean a lot to me to receive my Bachelor’s Degree here. I would like to make you understand that my low results in XXX and XXX that led to my suspension, does not mean that I am a bad student or that I am not interested in studying. My mistake was to underestimate the difficulty of the course and exam preparation process.
I can guarantee if I am reinstated, I will do my best to improve my results and show all my skills and potential. I am going to put the priorities in my life more wisely, thus, I definitely have to reduce the workload in order to focus more on my studies. I will also organize a better time management so that I could not only take time for my studies, but for my work and personal responsibilities as well. I am also going to have a conversation with my advisor at school in order to get some useful advice regarding building up better communication with my professors and classmates. Moreover, attending additional workshops, trainings and tutoring classes would help me to handle the studying material pretty fast. I have learned my lesson and that is why I will take full advantage of any kind of extra help offered for students by the School.
At this point of my life I am ready to devote all myself to professional studies and I am sure that my readmission will help me move to the future educational and professional achievements. I totally admit my mistakes and kindly ask for a reconsideration of my academic dismissal from the School of Nursing. I do hope you will grant me one more chance to become an integral part of the School. I would be really thankful if you take into consideration my appeal letter.
Sincerely yours,
XXX
