Respected Committee,
I am writing this letter with the intention of requesting the Financial Aid Appeal Committee to consider my appeal concerning the continuation of Federal Financial Aid receipt at (Institution’s name). I want to highlight several reasons due to which I was not able to continue my education and meet the required academic progress. To begin with, I am a single parent with two children. One of my children is disabled. Due to my child’s condition, I am obliged to pay a lot of medical bills. In addition, I have to attend all the medical appointments myself. Unfortunately, I have no family support. For the same reason, I am currently trying to enforce child support and custody so that my children’s basic requirements can be met decently. My poor financial position has also compelled me to switch from a part time to full time job. Presently, I am working at two different places to support my children. Moreover, it is important to mention that I was taking care of my grandmother for the last two years. Last couple years (2) took care of my grandmother. Secondly, I had to change my major chiropractor to LVN to a quick and decent paying job. Luckily, I was provided help by Texas workforce in Sherman, TX in 2009.
Despite my difficult circumstances, I want to assure that I will work on raising my GPA level. My professional experiences have made me learn the significance of education. It is the main reason I am writing this appeal letter. Time management and passion to acquire knowledge would enable me to complete all the courses successfully.
Kindly consider my plea as I want to raise my children as well-groomed individuals. I want to be a role model for them and the acquirement of education would allow me to be exemplary. My hopes are high and I would wait for a positive reply concerning the provision of financial aid.
