Prevalently, the emergence of various innovations has indeed assisted the society at great length. Innovation purely intends to bring positive impact to both the business firm and the society at large. A point to note is that some technology barely benefits the company or a business firm but it largely benefits the society. In view of this business firms should not focus much on its selfish gain but should generate innovation that put interest of the members of the society at stake.
Notably, society has been plagued by several pitfalls and setbacks. Just to mention, poverty is ravaging the society. Secondly, the rate of unemployment is alarming. Three, the nation’s economic growth and development are unsteady. Death rates due to sanitation problems are at the higher sides. Due to this, various business must swiftly innovate technology that will iron out some of the mentioned catastrophic. The government has continuously come up with programs and policy to solve some of the mentioned problems, due to the myriad nature of the, the government is unable (Szucsich 2008). The business firms must join hands with the government to improve the lives of the members of the society. Business firms must come up with various technological innovations that will improve the lives of its citizen.
The innovation of the water purification technology commonly known as the New water filter technology coming from Hindustan uniliver and Tata. The emergency of this technology has virtually assisted many developing nations. The technology was developed with a sole purpose of ensuring the water is filtered and treated before consumption. Reportedly, almost a half of the patients visits and congests hospitals on dirty water related issues. Secondly, majority of patients regularly suffer from sanitation problems which are majorly attributed by dirty water.
The worst point to note is that in developing country 500 children perish daily due to water related issue. The high mortality rate is caused by the use of dirty water leading to diseases such as diarrhea. A study conducted in Ghana and Pakistan indicates that diarrhea related ailments cost a country has high as 4.5 % of its GDP (Schewick, 2010). This is a clear indication of the water-related issue takes away millions and billions of shillings from the government. India, on the other hand lack the capacity to treat waste products generated from urban household. The mentioned waste spread to pollute both ground and surface water. Due to this, the water borne diseases in India is more than one and half times the number caused by the feared HIV (Schewick, 2010).
New water filter technology innovation has reduced the number of death rates due to the water related issues. The technology ensures all the water used in the household must be filtered and treated. As such, ensures consumers use safe and healthy water. The water purification technology has been of great imperative to the society. To start with, it has reduces the mortality rate brought about by dirty water and sanitation issues. Secondly, it has enabled the society to enjoy clean and health water. Thirdly, it has assisted the government to reduce its spending on combating water-related diseases.
Secondly, the establishment of telecommunication has been one of the salient innovations. In the past, the members of the global world had several challenges. To start with, the world had difficulty in communication, for instance, one had to travel a long distance to pass a message (Castells, 2011). Secondly, one could walk from one office to another asking for job opportunities. Thirdly, the access of information was intricate. Fourthly, the buying and selling of goods and services had only to take place in the market.
Today, the telecommunication innovation has reduced the world into a global village. The emergency of the cell phones has enabled the members of the global world to communicate without covering the long distance. Secondly, the emergency of the internet has enabled members of the society to access any needed information. Thirdly, jobs are been advertised through the internet and major applications are made through the same internet. Furthermore, the sale of goods and services have been made easy, a firm could advertise its product through the internet and the buyer will link with the seller on how to make the payments. The mentioned technology has reduced the burden to the society at a great deal. The society now is able to communicate without travelling (Ling, 2004). Also, the members of the society are able to access the information without travelling. All the above reasons has made the life cheaper, thereby increasing the standard of living of the members of the society. The emergence of Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail has actual made communication easier and cheaper, for instance, a single mail can be forwarded to several respondents (Schewick, 2010).
