Two men who made an impact both positive and negative in society with their ideas, inventions, and economic impact were Max Weber and Frederick Taylor. Max Weber was known for his passion for sociology. He was one of the men who brought this type of subject to life and was proud of his accomplishments concerning every aspect of sociology. Frederick Taylor was known for his engineering and inventions. He has a title of being considered the “father of scientific management” . He has many contributions that he has set in place for the future of engineering development.
Max Weber was a man who was knowledgeable, and was known as one of the three founding fathers of sociology. He is well known for his intelligence in the social science spectrum. Weber had influenced many different areas such as education, political science, law, public administration and economics. His contribution for these areas were needed to enhance each category to a higher potential.
Weber research and theory had brought forth social science identity. The journals he wrote and collected information to create his theory of sociology had a great impact on the future of social science. “Weber's two most celebrated contributions were the “rationalization thesis,” a grand meta-historical analysis of the dominance of the west in modern times, and the “Protestant Ethic thesis,” a non-Marxist genealogy of modern capitalism” . He was also intelligent, and outspoken with economic politics and discussing public affairs.
One of the core ideas that Max Weber developed was social thinking. Social thinking is considered for people to take into consideration of future, present, and past behaviors. Weber was the author of a book that had a great impact and contribution to society. His book “Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism” was an important part of sociology history.
Max Weber wanted to understand why some countries could build a strong capital economy and others could not. His belief was that the practice of belief in religion was the cause. His theory was that Protestantism was a religion that had more of an impact on economy growth and capitalism than other religions. His other contribution to society symbolic interactionism which is one of the three sociology perspectives in today’s society. Interactionism argues the idea that society is caused by the people that interact in society. He thinks that society can only be studied by the people who understand it.
Weber’s ideas and goals that he accomplished in society were huge. He may have had some flaws in other areas and not all of his ideas were proven effective, but he was intelligent. Weber had brought forth social awareness and the ability to study society and its functions. These are great milestones that he had accomplished in his lifetime. His organizational goals and acknowledgements are well produced. The consequences of individual organizational members is life chances. He did not worry about what others thought, and would search for information to back up his ideas.
Frederick Taylor had a motivation growing up that he wanted to bring “efficient work environment” that he called scientific management . When Taylor had come up with scientific management he found that managing time study was effective in getting the job done accurately and timely. He believed if managers watched the workers and kept them working then time would be managed properly and the business would exceed expectations. Taylor’s theory of time management had made a dramatic increase in mass production and improved the industries potential. There were some labors who disputed time management and did not like when Taylor took it to extreme and made them work productively to get the job complete.
Frederick Taylor’s ideas of time management and scientific management has set a milestone for the future of work ethic and science engineering. He was not compelled to consider negativity based on his ideas, theories and actions. He believed that his ideas were accurate and showed progression with his theories that managing time effectively would produce more business, money, and economic growth in the industry.
Frederick Taylor had also founded the Taylor White System that was invented to heat chrome steel for treatment. This system had won him recognition internationally. He did not worry about consequences when he had an idea and brought it to life. His ideas had made a huge impact in regards to science engineering and scientific management. He had revolutionized how organizations and business operate today.
Taylor had made an impact on industries and the ranking of members of those organizations. The members were changed to levels in the industry based on their status and work ethic. Management were over the work ethic of the labors who were ensured to work productively. The productive work flow built the way industries expand and increase growth. Not everyone agreed with Frederick and his ideas but he his ideas had proven successful in the industry and business prospective.
Max Weber and Frederick Taylor are two men who had influenced society and changed the outlook in different spectrums of how society works and improves abilities. The understanding of how to improve and expand business, industries, and social economic standards had brought future changes to the world. The impact of each invention has changed how we operate, think, and effectively build economic development, and stability. The men are well known for each of their inventions, and the process they took to implement them into society for the needs of the people.
